General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The Sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on the morning of the sale, or Prior Inspection of the sheep is most welcome by appointment with the vendors (see page 1). CONDITIONS OF SALE - The pedigrees and description of each lot are believed to be correct. The flock will be sold under Dispersal Sale rules and no warranties of any sort are implied or given. HOTELS - There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found on page 6 of the catalogue. METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official ‘Pass Slip’, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement. MAEDI VISNA – All sheep are MV accredited. EXPORT – All sheep are available for direct export to Northern Ireland.

Deveronside Flock The Deveronside flock was established in 2004 with the two original females being S46:Z91 and S46:U46 from the Muiresk flock. These two ewes couldn’t make it to the sale due to age and were not able to travel. Other females were then added to the flock including S46:C89. She was bought back after being Muiresk’s show ewe lamb in 2003 and is from one of the best show winning bloodlines. The well renowned JTO:H28 was also bought, becoming one of Deveronside’s most successful females, winning her class at the RHS 4 times, going on to be Breed Champion twice and Reserve in the Interbreed once. The decision to have a dispersal was far from easy due to breeding Suffolk’s being part of everybody’s blood at Kinnermit. Many friends have been made during the 62 years breeding Suffolk’s and we will forever be grateful for all the help and support received during this period. Although the 8th July will be a sad day for everyone involved with Deveronside, it will present an exciting opportunity for new and established breeders to buy into some of the most successful blood lines in the breed. Strathisla Speed Needs no introduction, former ‘sire of the year’ and RHS Champion. Sons have sold to 25,000gns and daughters to 10,000gns twice. He has also sired 2 RHS Champions.
Strathisla Sea Bird
Strathisla Sea Bird Champion Edinburgh 2009 and was purchased for 10,000gns. He was a ram with huge scale power and flesh. His sons have sold to 18,000gns and daughters to 5500gns twice. Dam sold for 12,000gns to Lakeview flock in 2009.
Forkins Figo Sold for 13,000gns in 2011. His dam was top price ewe at 5000gns at the Castlewellan Dispersal Sale. Figo was runner up Sire of the Year in 2012 and his sons have sold to 12,000gns, 9,000gns, 8,500gns, 5,500gns and many more high prices. Rhaeadr Roger Ram Jet Purchased for 8,000gns in 2011. Bred one of Cairness’ best ever ram lambs, Cairness Diamond Jubilee. Daughters include lot 7, RHS Champion 2015. He is a tremendous female breeder with daughters to 5000gns, 4000gns, 3200gns, 3000gns and 6, 2000gns plus.

Cairness Diamond Jubilee Sired by Rhaeadr Roger Ram Jet, he is one of the best lambs ever bred at Cairness. He is out of the noted 33H:N34, the only ewe in the country by the 9000gns Fyvie Classic. His gdam 33H:H40 is dam of Cairness Carbon. Diamond Jubilee is the sire of 21,000gns Great Expectations who has bred very successfully.
Rhaeadr Red Devil
Rhaeadr Red Devil Has had a massive influence on the Deveronside flock since his 5500gns purchase. Sired by 90,000gns Ardlea Arbennig he won 1st prize shearling and Reserve Male Champion at RHS. Sons include 10,000gns Deveronside Doodlebug. First son, Deveronside Red Arrow, was Male Champion & Reserve Overall RHS and went to be Reserve Champion at Stirling Show & Sale. He also sired two members of 2014 first prize pen of three at Stirling. Daughters include lot 15 and lot 16, Champion Turriff Show and 1st prize RHS respectably.
Roundacre Rojo
Roundacre Rojo Purchased at Stirling 2014 for 4,800gns as a young lamb. Sired the 1st prize elite ram lamb at Stirling 2015. Sired by 21,000gns Cairness Great Expectations. Left tremendous silky hair and bodies with great colours.

Ballynacanon Big Baz Purchased at Stirling last year for 2600gns out of the 2nd prize pen of 3. Since getting him home he has never stopped growing and has massive scale. Sired by 10,000gns Mountford Mustang, he is maternal brother to Ballynacanon Big Den and his maternal sister sold for 3800gns. Cairness Cyclone Champion at National Show and Sale in 2010 and sold for 26,000gns. Sons have sold to 10,000gns, 7,000gns, 5,500gns and daughters to 6,200gns. Muirton One Direction Sold for 19,000gns in 2014. Grown into a ram with tremendous presence and power. Bred very well for us at Deveronside with his lambs all looking exceptionally promising. Strathisla Stiffler Sold for 12,000ns in 2012, his dam was sold for 7,200gns and gdam sold for 10,500gns. Progeny include 1st prize ewe lamb RHS and 1st prize elite ram lamb Stirling. His sons have sold to 3500gns and 3000gns and daughters were top priced ewe lambs at Strathisla Dispersal selling to 5500gns.
