Sky of Faith by ADing PREFACE "Sky of faith 2014 ADing Paintings" exhibition, held by Taihe Art Space in Beijing 798 district, will be opened in Nina Torres Gallery in Miami, USA, Taihe Art Space US branches in November 15, 2014.This exhibition is planned by Chinese famous art dealer Jia Tingfeng and the famous American art critic Nina Torres as academic chairman. This is the third station of “Sky of faith 2014 ADing’s paintings" world tour after the Beijing and Miami station. The exhibition is expected to show ADing's more than fifty Tibetan Characters Theme pieces created in recent years. The theme of the Tibetan art has always been a popular theme for painters. But the fact is that most painters prefer to depict what to pander to the common aesthetic habits and audience's imagination, like the blue and white snowcapped mountains thus exotic scenery and hospitality of people .Occasional novelty on Tibet art is vague description of grand national culture or social change as geographical study of specimens. Recently, at a friend's referral I had the privilege to see this group of ADing’s Tibetan portraits, although they are slightly different from my imagination, they are outstanding works. Unlike the previous artist's paintings and the past empirical formula of "collective consciousness, I see ADing "personal expression" for Tibetan area and people there. ADing has been living in Tibetan for more than ten years, he have a deep affection to this piece of land and the people there. ADing said: Tibetan is not just a scenic spot for me; it is the earth of holiness and spirituality. It is place which makes people meditate, prostrate towards belief and communicate with nature. It is because of this kind of experience, Tibetan People depicted by ADing are no longer simply speculation ——aloof, wrinkled and dressed in rags. If this is all what he depicted, it is no difference with "Scar Art" and “local realism" which appeared in eighties of last century's. we should notice that these characters all have similar eyes, clear, simple, firm and full of hope, no matter sound and disabled , young or old .In addition, it is special that the background is blurred, we barely able to see the bleak sky and barren earth. This depicts reflect the hardship of life in Tibet.
Sky of Faith by ADing ADing has been able to draw this painting because of his long-term life in Tibet, bathing the same sun and breathing the same air. He lives life as Tibetans, then he can comprehend the real feelings and deep inside of Tibetans .Those that live in the city can never have thus real sentiment. ADing's characters have their faith. It is seems that they got guidelines from the God and persist their faith in their life. His expression accumulates massive spiritual strength so that the audiences’ souls were baptized and purified in front of these paintings. In this sense, ADing 's works are different from many critical realism paintings and show A unique belief connotation. The status of characters has beyond the tumult of the trivialization of life and goes into a more purely spiritual soul level, serene and great. From the city to the plateau, ADing alienated to city life and dedicated to spiritual practice. The longer he lives in Tibet, the purer of his heart. One side is the desire to push the world away; the other is for spiritual belief. In the back view of himself and social reality, ADing realized the essence of life - religion tells us how we live. This is the third time Taihe art space cooperates with Nina Torres gallery--- Taihe Art Space US branches since the former two exhibitions---sounds of nature – Kun Lunzi Art Exhibition", "freedom of scales (fourth round) - Chinese Contemporary Ink go to Basel". Founded in 1999, Taihe art space positioning the global promotion of local Chinese artists and aims to construct a new value judgment system of contemporary art . After 15 years of development, with its academic forward-looking and market guidance, Taihe art space has become the benchmark of Chinese local galleries. This exhibition emphasize that in the premise of the reserve Chinese rooted culture, ADing's work has beyond geographical and national boundaries and show a universal humanistic care. The spiritual connotation in his work has been out of the picture and become a universal language which can ignite a lamp in every viewer's heart, though faint but lasting warm
