“I find the EMBA very stimulating, and the learning environment innovative and fun. The combination of in-class lectures with high quality discussions and interesting case studies, the collaborative culture, and the focus on personal development have allowed me to rapidly learn new concepts and ideas. What has been most surprising is how quickly I have been able to apply some of the new knowledge that I have acquired during the EMBA to my current job. The EMBA will prepare me to step up my career, not only by providing me with new managerial tools, but also by changing my mindset and giving me greater self-confidence to identify and pursue opportunities.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM The key to success in the job market is no longer an MBA degree, but rather the MBA graduate! What you learn is of course important, but it’s what you do with this knowledge that will create your value-added and make the difference, which is why we have now integrated this factor as one of our key values. Our Personal Development Program (PDP) has been designed to help you to: °° become aware of your potential and show you how to develop it fully (self-leadership module in the 1st year) °° develop your personal and leadership skills (4 dedicated modules in the 2nd year) °° work in teams that combine various professional, cultural, and business sectors – both during the program and in the MBA project
°° create links with our alumni to draw from their experience through targeted meetings and during the annual garden party Our MBA doesn’t just offer an excellent learning experience, it also offers you the concrete means to put it into practice.
“We help develop our participants’ professional identity. Today, managers face increasingly complex environments. While MBA programs often provide the knowledge and tools that managers need, much less time and effort are invested into improving their personal and leadership skills. This is unfortunate as no theoretical lecture can prepare managers for the full variety of challenges they will face in their careers. That’s why we designed the entirely new Personal Development Program. This program helps our participants put their knowledge in action in ways that enable them to deal with even the most difficult situations. We use action-based learning to simulate leadership challenges and foster leadership skills by working in teams.”

Professors The University of Geneva has a long teaching tradition in Business Management. This tradition dates back to the founding of the Economic and Social Sciences (SES) department in 1915, one of the first in Europe to unite different disciplines in one department. The teach-
ing and research development in Management prompted the faculty to establish a specialized section called the “Hautes Etudes Commerciales” (HEC Geneva) in 1994. This section’s faculty includes nearly one hundred teachers, researchers, and administrative staff. For the
MBA program, we combine HEC Faculty members with hand-picked guest professors from Swiss and international universities.
“I really enjoy teaching in our MBA program. What I appreciate most are the discussions, which benefit from our student’s rich professional experiences.”
prof. Marcel Paulssen Professor of Marketing at HEC Geneva “Reflecting the city of Geneva’s cosmopolitan character, our MBA participants come from 24 nations. This is a real advantage when discussing managerial challenges in a globalized world.”

“Following the completion of two Masters’ degrees, in Economics and Demography, I began my career in the medical device industry at Johnson & Johnson. Subsequently, I held marketing positions in the biomedical industry, in Geneva and Zurich. I currently work in a management position in the banking industry. This MBA has allowed me to acquire a strong foundation in the main management fields. The second year was an opportunity to follow a marketing specialization, which consolidated my work experience. I would like to add that I really enjoyed the cultural and professional diversity of the students, which allowed me to widen my network.”
