ABOUT I am a fresh graduate from UCLA with great enthusiasm for design. In the design work, I am very concerned about the details and quality. At the same time, I have a solid foundation in software usage and great design inspiration. I am also a friendly person, good at solving problems through communication. I am very happy to bring joy to the people around me. In my life, I have many hobbies and I am a positive and optimistic person. Of course, my life is inseparable from design. I also know that there is much I need to learn and I should keep working hard all the time. using my own efforts to make the world a better place, even if it is a little bit.

STACK SURGE

Before the design, I conducted two surveirs, one is about the students’ dayliy lives and another is about the function utilized by different groups, also, the students’ activties is considered as one of the main factor. In the diagram I, I sum up 12 major activities of students and analyzed when they would occur and what the ratio is. After this I drawed a picture of college stufents’ lives. In t the diagram II, I analyzed five major group in the campus and find out that how do they use the different function areas in the school and get some problems in the site, after leveled them, I could know the direction of my design. The purpose of the design is not only to meet the demands but also to find a way to solve the problems.

The objective of this project is to build a theater in the new campus of Beijing Jiaotong University. The site is in the center of the campus and besides the Ming Lake. So, the view around should be take into consideration and the building itself should be a landscape.Although the building is a theater, it has to integrat many founctions such like exhibition, relax and communucation to meet the potential demands.

As we know, the cicada is a insect that sing on the tree. It is the musician in the kingdom of animal. So, the theater is the musician in the architecture. Concept the campus as a forest. The theater’s capacity is limited, but if the theater could product sound and spread it that would affact more people. People could listen the music in the outdoor stage. Morever,.when there is no perform inside. the outdoor stage is good place to hold activties.

In the shape of the buiding, I learned the elements of the waves in the traditional culture, the waves represent the wave, represents the spread, which is consistent with the concept of theater communication culture. Cascading waves represent a new idea of the impact, while the waves of dynamic modeling also added to the architectural beauty. So the waves and the theater is perfect fit significant spots

PRESURVEY

Beijing is the capital of China and gathered prople all over the country, besides, to this people are doing many different vovations in diverse area. So, here is the problem that how to satisify people in a metropolis that has different people with different vocations? So I did a survey, analysis of the different urban functional areas of Beijing, and the actual needs of the residents of different identities

function floor

Different regions have different needs, the functional areas of the building will be changed according to the location of the different. This will achieve the construction of a customized, that is, the building function completely from the base naturally generated.

Today, metropolis like Beijing is more and more crowded and living experience in big city is no more better than smaller ones.

The problem that how to satisify people in a metropolis that has different people with different vocations is the purpose of this design. The building should be changeable to suit the changeable city, and public communitu space is the key to solve the problems. With the public space link the different function area though the building, people can do anything they want, they can do sports, read books, discuss with others, and just sit down and have a rest, the kind of function depend on the people live in the building. The building is changeable with people, and just like a living body.

DIVERSIFICATION OF THE PLAN

Due to the changeable floor moudel, I set four patterns of the floor unite, there are four households, three households, two households and loft. and the pattern of the building is depended on the kind of people live in the building. The combination is a characteristic of the building I hope it could adapt different people live in different area. The building just grow up in the area and the same as the changeable floor pattern the building faced is changeable to. Building should changeable to make itself integrate into the site.

The living circulation and the community circulation compose the complex circulation. The separation of the two parts maintains the residents' privacy. It is also convenient to enter another circulation on each floor. In the public layer, many familiar and local symbols appearing in citizens' traditional daily life are merged into the form of the space, aimed to arouse the resonance of living in old blocks with various public activities. With the no column system made of concrete steel frame, creating open space may become possible, so a vertical community can meet the needs of different groups, while creating a different people contact space.

SIGNIFICIANCE FOR THE CITY

In the rapid development of the city today, the big city general lack of large space, the design of the module construction area can be adjusted at any time, at the same time, building internal functions can also change with the change of venue. Whether the different areas of the same city or completely different city, vertical districts can adapt to the venue and fusion, it is mechanically stiff because it has a steel structure design, it is also soft variable, because it fit the active site, take the initiative to change itself. It is such a contradiction of the building, but it and the venue perfect fit, so that the building in the conflict, but the ultimate goal is to solve the contradiction, to meet the different needs of people. Factory design can meet the mass production, in the change of the metropolis, to seek a higher quality of life. Design, from life, to change life.

The area around the site has four main areas the residentcal area, the greenland area the office area, and the commercial atrea. The complexity of the surrounding environment makes the design needs to consider a lot of factors. CONCEPTION

Just like your hands, refers to the gap between the natural space, through the combination of the cross, and let nature into the building, and the function of the building, and people contacts, more people feel the essence of life. At the same time to join the Chinese traditional culture five lines, through the circulation of traffic routes, to create an organism. LIFE COLLECTION IN BEIJIGN

In China, most of the city's development is accompanied by environmental pollution, air pollution, noise pollution, water pollution, light pollution and so on, people need a good place to go close to nature, to feel the life. Especially in Beijing, the haze is getting worse, more and more people and less chance to see the green, natural contact, so I design to create a living room for the city, but also the city's balcony, to relax, to experience life.

FORMING PROCESS

Set a path

Through the line shaped green path will be connected to the natural. At the same time this road will be the function of the mall space division. Add function area

Build the functional area of the building, while elevationthe green path to form a ramp, the end of the ramp platform can view the city landscape. Creat varied space

NATURE IN TRADITIONAL

In Chinese traditional culture, nature is composed of five elements, which are metal, wood, water, fire and eath. They generate, circle, and they are in a dynamic equilibrium.

Through the dislocation of block the public space will be divided into three dimensional space, creating a variety of spatial experience. Link the buiding

With the corridor in the air will be connected to the function unit, interspersed in the green, to experience the natural.

ANALYSIS OF NEEDS

Green space

Based on the reflection on the function creative campus park, we establish two behavior models by hierarchy of needs. By analyzing the behavioral and psychological need of different groups, we understand the distinctive need of living soace and public space systematically. These analysis help us decide which elements should be valued and expressed in design.

In the past, the campus buildings, low level, the lack of green space and the exchange of space, by increasing the number of buildings, leaving extra space to create green space. RUBBER STAMPTS

I like painting since I was a child. Because it is the most peaceful moment when I am painting. Now I found it has more meaning to me. Painting can increase my understanding of Architecture, record beautiful moments, express feelings, and show us past and future.

Rubber engraving is one of my hobbies. Rubber is easier to control than stone. Increase the perception and understanding of the material by carving, enhance practical ability and hand eye coordination. This hobby helps build a model of architecture.
