A gathering of friends and family. Celebration of the good things in your life. The end of harvest season; and the generosity of others. School is excused for Thursday and Friday.


Thanksgiving has been celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November every year since 1863. Thursday, the 27th of November this year It remembers the Pilgrims who arrived from England in 1620. The Native Americans helped save their lives when they arrived so they gave thanks the next year with food.



•Turkey is the main dish at Thanksgiving


Stuffing is cooked inside the turkey. It is made with bread, onion, celery, and mushrooms


Gravy is made from the turkey drippings


Green beans cooked with fried onion, mushroom, and cream sauce.


Pumpkin pie is the traditional dessert of Thanksgiving.

My entire family gathers on Friday after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents sometimes more than 40 people. My mother often works that day and must come late. We have a “Pot-luck� where everyone brings a dish. And spend the day together having fun.
