In his address to the assembled devotees, Swami Vimokshananda encouraged every devotee to visit the temple and take the blessings of the Divine Mother. He said that the devotee must pay attention to three important factors while visiting the temple.

The first and foremost is to keep quiet and think of godly thoughts. No mundane matters to be discussed. The second is to bring one’s family and friends to attend prayers.

Thirdly, to sit at least 10 minutes in silence at any corner of the temple and do japa of the mantra that they have received from their respective Gurus.

Swami Supriyananda went on to sing a song glorifying the Divine Mother. The song depicted the nature of the Mother who is ever ready to cut the knot of birth and death.

UNIQUE FEATURE One unique feature of this temple is to provide knowledge about Hinduism to the children, youth and elders of the society. The temple has sought the assistance of the Ramakrishna Mission, Kuala Lumpur to extend its activity so that the Swami visits this place periodically and organises classes. At the main entrance of the temple the Holy Trio with the backdrop of Mother Kali and Dakshineshwar temple are suitably sculpted.

started thronging the venue from early morning. People were seen bringing flower garlands, and other puja samagris in their hands for the offerings to Amman. Other deities like Ganesha, Muruga, Munishwarar were also given a holy bath.

The Head priest along with his five assistants, specially invited from Madurai, Tamil Nadu performed many relevant rituals like Ganapathy Puja, Yaga Mandala Puja, Purnahuti etc on the previous day. In the evening of 19th, kalasa puja and yagam with Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam was also done. The puja team was ably assisted by local Shivacharias of Malaysia. With due diligence the kumbha was carried to the top of the Gopuram in the morning of the 20th. By 11 am, on the holy day of Bhishma Ekadashi the Kumbha waters, sanctified and purified by mantras earlier, was poured over the Gopuram.

The assembled devotees who were witnessing this inspiring incident chanted the glory of Amman’s name amidst the melam and Nadaswaram music‌ The detailed alankaram was done to holy idol of Amman which was energised by a process of prana-pratishtha.

She, the Mother of the Universe, glowed in all her dazzling beauty with fragrant flower garlands. The sculpted 18 Siddhars was indeed well done on the temple outer walls that attracted attention of everyone.

THANKS GIVING The Trustees, called Arankavalars of the Alayam thanked profusely the public for their coming forward to assist in every way for the success of the function. They also felt happy that two monks from Ramakrishna Mission participated and addressed the audience. They expressed their gratefulness for the innumerable donors who gave to the Alayam in cash and kind. The service of the volunteers was also appreciated. More than thousand people were given anna danam after the ceremony. For the entire duration two group of artistes played nadaswaram with thavil in their captivating tones.

Thereafter, arati was performed with the singing of “khandana bhava bandhana…” It was 8 pm when Swami Supriyananda invited Swami Vimokshananda to address the gathering on “Parama bhakta Sri Hanumanji”.

The programme concluded with the devotees lining up to do pranam to S w a m i Vimokshananda.

All were served with supper. After completing his tour of Malaysia for two days, Swami Vimokshananda returned to Singapore on 21st January, 2016.

Two facets of Sri Hanumanji

Swami Vimokshanandaji spoke for about 45 minutes. He began his discourse by describing the great power and strength of Sri Hanumanji.

The early story of child Hanuman when the rishis of the forest who were upset with Hanuman’s quirky antics, pronounced a curse on him and how he was cured of the curse was retold. And 3
