Glimpses of Holiness A Satsang was organized by the Amriteswari Society of Singapore at our Sarada Hall on Tuesday 15 November 2016 at 7.30 pm. After the evening Arati at the Temple Hall, Swami Vimokshananda warmly welcomed Swami Purnamritananda Puri, the General Secretary of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, India and devotees who visited the Temple shrine before proceeding to the Sarada Hall. The youths of the Amriteswari Society chanted the invocatory shlokas and ceremonially garlanded and welcomed both the monks. Swami Purnamritananda in his melodious voice began the programme with chants and sang soul stirring bhajans for half an hour while playing the harmonium. During his discourse, he first recalled Amma’s visit to the Belur Math and that he goes to Belur Math whenever he visits Kolkata. He also explained how in the early days Amma used to tell the Brahmacharins to read books on Sri Ramakrishna’s life and teachings. Swami Vimokshananda then stated what Holiness means. He quoted how Sarada Devi is called “Holiness Personified” – “Pavitrata swaroopinyai”. The removal of impurities of the mind brings holiness and holiness, in turn, manifests the supreme love for all beings. Swami Purnamritananda concluded the session by singing the Arati Song to Amma and did the Arati and offered flowers to Amma’s picture and to the Holy Trio in the Sarada Hall. The devotees received blessings from the two monks. Prasad was served to all.

Every act of charity, every thought of sympathy, every action of help, every good deed, is taking so much of selfimportance away from our little selves and making us think of ourselves as the lowest and the least, and, therefore, it is all good. Here we find that Jnâna, Bhakti, and Karma — all come to one point. Have charity towards all beings. Pity those who are in distress. Love all creatures. Do not be jealous of anyone. Look not to the faults of others. –Swami Vivekananda
