Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s Jayanti Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s Jayanti was celebrated at Singapore Ramakrishna Mission on 12 March 2017. At the temple hall, the pictures of Sri Chaitanya in his ecstatic state and Chaitanya and Nityananda dancing with the Lord’s Name were displayed with a beautiful floral deco.

Swami Satyalokananda led the group hymnal chanting of Sri Jagannatha Ashtakam and Sri Madanagopala Ashtakam. Swami Vimokshananda, in his short speech, traced the glorious life of Sri Chaitanya. He narrated three main incidents from his life. The first was throwing away of his own superior writing on ‘Nyaya’ – Logic, a literary work that he created. This proved to show how ‘Nimai’, the early name of Chaitanya – was bereft of any

The function came to a close with the singing of ‘Shyama Nama Sankirtanam’ while a special arati to Sri Chaitanya and earlier a special puja were conducted by Swami Pavitratmananda. It was attended by 120 sincere devotees who offered ‘Abir’ at the holy feet of Sri Chaitanya and also Sri Ramakrishna. Prasad was given to all. Logistics were taken care of by Swami Jitamanasananda.

Swami Bodhasarananda in Singapore Swami Bodhasarananda, a Trustee of the Ramakrishna Math and a Member of the Governing Body of the Ramakrishna Mission visited Singapore on his way back from Bangkok from 20 to 23 March 2017. He is presently an Assistant General Secretary at the Headquarters in Belur Math. He went to Bangkok to participate in the Annual Day of the Ramakrishna Vedanta Association of Thailand which celebrated the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda. On 21 March, Swami Bodhasarananda addressed a sincere group of devotees in a program called “Satsang with a Monk” at the Kumon Room at Level 1 of

Swami Bodhasarananda in Singapore the Temple. He narrated several incidents from the life of Sri Ramakrishna to explain how His mere ‘touch’ brought about ‘transmission’ of energy and enthusiasm and how this transmission helped the devotees in getting a proper ‘transformation’ in their spiritual lives. After his lecture many devotees met him and enjoyed his company. A group of members belonging to the Kashmiri Association in Singapore also met him. He was taken to some tourist spots of Singapore where he was charmed at seeing the Nature’s abundance. He left for Kolkata on 24 March in the wee hours.

Home Satsang at Johor Bahru Sri V Ramakrishnan, his nephews and niece with their respective family members and also their friends took part in the Satsang. The assembled people conveyed their hearty thanks to the visiting Swami. The devotees felt that they were benefitted immensely and wished and prayed that such Home Satsangs be a regular event in the future. A lunch was also served.

Swami Vimokshananda attended a Home Satsang in Johor Bahru on 11 March 2017 at a devotee’s home. The Home satsang went off well with bhajansinging and recitation of ‘Sri Lalita Trisati’. The Swami gave a short Talk and responded to different queries from the relations and friends of the devotees. The Talk was on Sage Agastya and how he conquered the ego of the Mountain Vindhya by the grace Lord Shiva. He narrated the puranic story interspersed with the suitable teachings of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna.
