Real-estate developer

DESIGN BRIEF A Prominent real-estate developer having completed multiple projects of varied type & scale has recently purchased this parcel of land in Kandivali – East & intends to develop it to fullest potential for the residential sector. Kandivali is a north-western suburb of Mumbai that has developed rapidly in the past few decades. Kandivali has seen a drastic transformation in recent times. The suburb provides a substantial network of roads and highways connecting the entire city, like the Mulund-Goregaon Link Road, Malad-Andheri Link Road and the western express highway.

Location, close to the city centre yet set back from busy Western Exp Highway, allows peace besides on other side. Moment you wake up you can feel the fresh air & view of SGNP. Living space visually extends beyond the minimal glazed facade & terrace, where land meets sky! Such oriantation allows to maximise views from both inside and outside. All living and bedroom ensure a perfect view. It blends with the elements of nature, to create a personal sanctuary of comfort on edge of this cosmopolitan city! The climate vulnerability of Mumbai, therefore, means a threat to the life and property within the city, impact on the entire development trajectory and the economic loss for the entire nation. Mumbai falls in the seismic zone III which is Moderate Damage Risk Zone. Flooding and water logging possess severe hazards to human population in many parts of Mumbai.

NALASOPARA Documentation of Culture heritage at Shri Shani Mandir, at Waghol, Thane. SITE AREA- 2 acre SEM-5 2019

Mentor- Ar. Prajakta Adhaikari Shani temple was built by A.P. Phulare and brothers Architect: Ar. Nitin Patil Year of construction: 2010 team: Class of SEM-3 & 5

Shani temple was built 8 years ago, it took one and a half year to build the main temple. All the other structures were later addition according to the needs. This mandir was built by A.P.Phulare and brothers. It was built by the because they had faith in SHANI DEV. So all of them collectively decided to built the temple. The entire site was around 2 acer, which was divided into 2 parts the constructed area and the landscape area. OWNER ARCHITECT YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION LOCATION BUILDING MATERIAL STRUCTURES

Mesmerising Mandu The heart of the subcontinent, which was buried under the layers of rich heritage including from Hindu kings, Muslim sultanates, and lastly Mughals. These groups with variety in cultural marvels, originator of unexampled architecture behind that still dot the lush landscapes of this central Indian state, and this 7-day trip gave us an excellent opportunity to explore them all. Mandu, existing since 6th century BC, still standing strong to tell untold stories through its surviving architecture. India’s one of the biggest forts lies here. The famous Taj Mahal got inspiration from one of these structures. Tragic love story of Rani Roopmati and Baz Bahadur, and it’s thrilling end. Jahaz Mahal -It seems like the structure is floating on its own reflection having pond on both sides. It was built by Hoshang Shah, to the lady members giving them a sea-like ambiance. Mandu is located 2000 ft above sea level and had no aquifers or ground water; and had to be dependent upon rainwater during monsoon months. Thus, this structure was an elaborate rainwater storage tank with lots of pools and wells, when those ponds were full with water they provide a soothing climate around the palace. Everyone was astonished when we wonder that how that water pumped into the palace with more convenient filtration method. I wish I could visit these places in monsoon to see those lake and designer pools filled with water which would regain its beauty.
