Site:- Barot Valley, Himachal Pradesh Climate Responsive Design

The study focuses on climatic response and factors affecting it. The site is in Barot valley, H.P. runs through an imaginary story and mapping out the activities observed during the coldest, hottest and rainiest day of the year. The section through the valley towards the foothills have mapped changed accross all the seasons through slight human intervention to survive in the landscape. RAINIEST DAY

Dark weather through woods in the tree house or in the stream fishing the boy enjoys in the rain. Slopes managed to avoid waterfall in house.

COLDEST DAY

The extreme climate affects the change in settlements. Size of the openings getting the winter sun through deep warm indoors.

MAKING LIVING PLACES

Site:- Manipur lake & Bhadra Plaza, Ahmedabad Small scale conscious design

The studio focus on transforming life-depriving places into life enhancing ones, by studying the living centers and factors involved in it. The studio covers the principles of Christopher Alexander’s Nature of Order and Pattern language. The living centres evolve certain characteristics which is studied through phenomenology and the consious design to understand the textures of land and evolve life enhancing spaces.

The bird feeder (Chabutro) acts as centre and generate lot of public spaces with otla as a resting space and market between the busy streets of Bhadra
