PAVILION AT SARKHEJ ROZA Visualizing and Representation Studio Tutor:- Surya Kakani Studio Site:- Sarkhej Roza, Ahmedabad The studio aims to focus on planning and organization of built elements that creates spatial experience. The site is at Sarkhej Roza, comprises of unique architectural complexes an its response to context, scale and geometry.
DESIGN DECISIONS The program was to create leisure spaces for royals. Explorations of spaces giving vistas of the site. Varied layers in the Pavilion creating private and public spaces.
MAIN TANK
Final Plan and Section through Prince and Princess Pavilion. The central courtyard as the gathering space looks towards the lake whereas the upper level spaces are more private and for contemplation.

SUN WIND LIGHT Climate Responsive Design Tutor:- Mangesh Balsare Site:- Barot Valley, Himachal Pradesh The study focuses on climatic response and factors affecting it. The site is in Barot valley, H.P. runs through an imaginary story and mapping out the activities observed during the coldest,hottest and rainiest day.
SECTIONS OF SITE IN DIFFERENT SEASONS
RAINIEST DAY
Dark weather through woods in the tree house or in the stream fishing the boy enjoys in the rain. Slopes managed to avoid waterfall in house.
COLDEST DAY
The extreme climate affects the change in settlements. Size of the openings getting the winter sun through deep warm indoors.
LIVING PLACES Small Scale Design - Adaptive Reuse Studio Tutor:- Puneet Mehrotra, Juzar Lanewala Studio Site:- Manipur lake & Bhadra Plaza, Ahmedabad The studio focus on transforming life-depriving places into life enhancing ones, by studying the living centers and factors involved in it. The studio covers the principle of Christopher Alexander’s Nature of Order and Pattern language.

The centers observed a high density of life around it which relates to emotional and sensorial experiences.
The centers in the dense fabric of old city ahmedabad. A small chaotic place with traders and people hanging around.
Process and Final Outcome
Khel-Kud Vadi, Manipur Lake The orchard with a well as a strong existing center at the node of fields acts as amain source of water to other lifeforms. The vadi expanding into children play area,resting spaces and spaces for vantage. The water channel designed results to a constant source of it.

ART GALLERY AT UDAIPUR Institutional Studio Tutor:- Milind Patel, Kavita Meghani Studio Site:- Fatehsagar lake, Udaipur The studio aims to focus on the relationship of various ways the ground and building come together is primary to the initiation of design process. The process involves Sectional explorations,models and collages for the design stage. The site at FateshSagar lake, Udaipur. Designing an art gallery for local artisans and place for exchange of ideas.

The built allows a free movement and spatial enhanced spaces for the artist and visitora to relax and ponder.The landscape and siting allows layers of spaces in the built.

HOUSE AS A SMALL CITY Institutional - Housing Studio Tutor:- Rathin Goghari, Sagar Trivedi Studio Site:- Rewa kund, Mandu, M.P. The studio is about understanding and applying lessons from the Architecture of Mandu to create a design responding to the current context. Through learnings of it and focusing on experiential spaces. Design a small-scale residential architectural institute at Rewa Kund, Mandu.

Final Design
Residential Institute A tiny rammed earth house amidst a rich landscape of mandu holds an architectural institute. The site holding a old heritage context, so complementing it through minimum footprint with stratigically planned functions. The open landscpe allows small spaces to be enjoyed in most of the seasons.

STRANGE DETAILS Working Drawings ( Current Semester) Studio Tutor:- Mehul Bhatt Studio Site:- Ahmedabad The studio is about practising construction and soopectifying through unbuilt projects of the architect.Decoding the principles of his architecture, appllying and generating woking drawing of it.

Brick as a loadbearing element throughout the built where in the central bay staircase is supported by Timber beams and I section at the landing. The staircase is made up of wood and have intricate railing. The roof is a dynamic structure which is a type of Butterfly truss made up of timber and held together by scissor joints and metal rod.

Atira Low Cost Housing, Ahmedabad Vastu Shilp Consultants, 1957 The case study deals with construction drawings. Understanding the structural system, forces acting on it and material choices.
RELATED STUDY PROGRAM Documentation and Measure Drawing Tutor:- Sankalpa Site:- Fountainhas, Goa This program involved study of Portuguese settlement at Fontainhas in Panjim Goa. The area of study stretched from St. Thomas Chapel till St. Francis Xavier chapel at Portais. The house was documented and measured and aim was to study organization of spaces, local construction technique, use of material as well as decoding joineries.

STORY OF KANGRA VALLEY Documentation Tutor:- Ruhee Gala Site:- Garli, kangra valley, H.P The program deals with documentation of medieval heritage villages Garli and Pragpur having strong colonial influence. The study involves mapping settlement pattern, building traditions, culture and lifestyle. Four different typologies were looked through the lens of spatial configuration and Materiality.
HANDS-ON WORK Metal and Earthwork Tutor:- Sankalpa Site:- Cept Campus, Ahmedabad Workshop based group work as well as individual work to gain experience of material behavior as well as articulation and many other practical aspects of working in 1:1 scale.
FEATHER PAVILION
MATERIAL :- METAL- PERFORATED SHEET As a group of 12 students we made this one structure on our University campus in 3 weeks. Skills involved:- Leveling and line-out on land, foundation plate, metal cutting and bending, riveting and welding.
HUNNARSHALA FOUNDATION A place for experimenting with Earth materials and its construction sequence also acts as earthquake Resistance.
