N Tell us about your background. B I was born in Hong Kong and moved to Vancouver at the age of 7. Both my parents are artists and that influenced me and helped me develop my skill as an artist. As an artist, I try to highly emphasize the quality of life, values, love and care through my works. N What makes Tyte Lids unique? B Tyte Lids is all about street graffiti. It is an urban style and it is reaching more than just the hip-hop crowd. The art on each hat is carefully hand painted and never mass produced. The idea of Tyte Lids is influenced by the concept of “Counter Culture”. “Counter Culture” is about separating itself from the mainstream. N Why is being unique important? B I think everyone has something special to offer; unfortunately, sometimes it could be forgotten. Being different gives meaning to life in every one of us and that gives us the potential to make a difference in this world. N Tell us about your nightlife. B Very simple. Good food and good friends. They are both interconnected. Without good food, the night just won’t be perfect and without good friends to enjoy the food, the meal would be boring. Quality is all that matters. 22
N What is nightlife to you? B Nightlife is a chance to relax and escape from your daily routine. You get to do things with the people you enjoy being with. Nightlife is, after all ending your day in quality. N What makes Vancouver’s nightlife unique? B Vancouver nightlife involves a lot of clubbing; however, it also has a lot of other things to offer, take a stroll down Commercial Drive and you will know what I mean. Everyone is different.
