Erotic Secrets of Pompeii
Scott Lavene
Describing their music as ‘apocalyptic art rock’, Erotic Secrets of Pompeii are following up the release of their debut album Witness in the House of Pox with a live show at Golden Lion this June. Released in March via leftfield Bristol indie Deaf Endling Records, the Bristol five-piece make a walloping entry into the Bristol music scene – having only been conceived in the spring of 2018. Frontman and instigator Thomas Hawtin delivers a theatrical performance that sits somewhere between Talking Heads and Alice Cooper. Art, literature and zeitgeist are all brought into the fold, while the band transports you to their bizarre, disquieting world – plunging the willing into a 360-degree listening experience. While Erotic Secrets of Pompeii might be relatively fresh to the scene, a natural musical chemistry means that previous support slots at The Fleece and The Louisiana have gone down a storm. Frontman Thomas answers a few questions ahead of their headline show at The Golden Lion.
Scott Lavene is a maverick, a storyteller in its purest form. He tells tales of everyday life that anyone can resonate with, in his own gloomy take on things. Originating from Essex, Scott’s musical journey has taken him around the country and as far as New York City to film the video for his latest single Methylated Blue. His album Broke is due for release this month via Funnel Music, an album fittingly described as ‘drenched in living in the gutter but staring at the stars’. His music is as light-hearted and quirky as it is dark and bleak, Scott finds a way of detailing the little things in life, like cups of tea, being broke and getting bladdered, over punky guitar riffs. Dubbed the ‘Essex boy version of Lou Reed,’ catch Scott Lavene at Crofters Rights this June with his new band The Pub Garden. But first, he answers our 10 questions –

THOSE QUESTIONS... 1. What have you learned today? I was told that female cats tend to be right-handed (right-pawed?) and male cats are generally lefties. I’ll be watching my cats very carefully during dinnertime to see how they hold their forks. 2. Which song by another artist most inspires you? There’s probably a list of 10-20 songs that are up there. For the purpose of this interview, I’ll pick David Bowie’s Seven Years in Tibet, where he slips between electro-muzak verses to huge industrialgrunge choruses. It’s like listening to an old jazz number on FM radio that’s been disrupted by a storm. 3. Who are your top three acts right now? HMLTD with their heady genre-blending mix of glam, EDM, new romantic, synth pop, punk, experimental minimalism and electro – very eclectic, a lot of animal print, with a wet and wild live show. Next would be Sunderland’s slimiest son SLUG. Ian Black and his band of merry pranksters cut, chop and hack their tight, angular riffs with such vigour that there have been reported cases of dismemberment during SLUG gigs. And lastly, but definitely not leastly, Pleasure Complex. They sound a bit like Blur on amphetamines, in a world after the bombs have dropped. Tight, frigid and infectious. I’d like to take a peep at their pedalboards. 4. It’s 3am and the party is winding down, what track do you play to get everyone going again? Deeply Dippy by Right Said Fred. I have a dance routine. Well, more of a lunatic’s St Vitus’ Dance improvisation. It’s quite a thing to behold.
5. If you couldn’t work in music, what would you be doing instead? If for some unscrupulous reason a black mark was put against my name, barring me from the music industry, I’d go back to writing unsuccessful poetry. Or maybe start a cult. I often refer to myself as the David Koresh of ESOP, much to the unamusement of the band. 6. What was the last book you read? The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson. Great gonzo journalism and very funny. 7. Most recent binge watch? Russian Doll on Netflix, a surreal comedy about love and death – the two biggies, right? Or is that sex and taxes? I forget now. 8. Do you have a party trick? Please see answer to question four.
THOSE QUESTIONS... 1. What have you learned today? Balloons are shit.
6. What was the last book you read? The Stopping Places by Damian Lebas.
2. Which song by another artist most inspires you? Subterranean Homesick Blues by Dylan. Perfect blend of storytelling and pop.
7. Most recent binge watch? Fleabag – to see what the fuss was about. Bloody excellent.
3. Who are your top three acts right now? Mostly I’m listening to Faye Webster, Squid and Mac Demarco’s new album. 4. It’s 3am and the party is winding down, what track do you play to get everyone going again? Modern Love by David Bowie. 5. If you couldn’t work in music, what would you be doing instead? Librarian.
8. Do you have a party trick? Leaving early without saying goodbye 9. Tell us something people don’t generally know about you... I hug trees. A lot. 10. What are you doing tomorrow? Writing the next album. Eating toast. Getting my mop cut. Cleaning the van.
9. Tell us something people don’t generally know about you... There’s nothing people don’t generally know about me, as I tell everyone everything regularly and repeatedly. 10. What are you doing tomorrow? I’m off to watch ESOP’s very own Tom Hackwell (synths/guitar) play in his other outfit Lespectre at the Louisiana, they’re rather good. If ESOP were a suit made of glitter and barbed wire, Lespectre would be a tunic made of dreams and clouds.

KINGS OF THE ROLLERS able to do whatever melody you want, in whatever sound you want.’ Another new territory for Serum was working more heavily with vocalists, with guest vocals on nine of the album’s 17 tracks. Kings of the Rollers’ go-to MC Inja takes on two tracks, with appearances from veterans including MC Bassman and Navigator, as well as a stunning vocal from Lydia Pain. ‘Lydia Plain is an outrageously talented person. She played the piano and did the vocal on The Sky is Falling. Voltage came across her on Instagram and we felt very lucky at that point to find a vocalist that no one had used. When Hospital got in touch, she was really keen to work and she was super professional about everything, delivered everything on time and the quality was always good. We’ll be working with her again, definitely. ‘Navigator is probably one of the most experienced MCs out there working in Drum and Bass and reggae. I’ve been working with him for a long time and he really, really did us a good job on Gringo. The way that guy works, he can write absolutely killer verses in no time at all, just right off the top of the head.’
You can be more musical when you’re not relying on samples With such a cohesive sound across the record, as well as a different sound from what they’ve put out individually, it’s difficult to guess which elements each of the producers brought to the table on listening. ‘It changes from track to track’ Serum says. ‘Bladerunner has been really good on the melodies and the chords. There are a lot of tracks where he came up with some quite musical compositions. Voltage, me and him have a lot of weird, outthere ideas. Voltage is also very good on what people are going to vibe to in a club. ‘I’ve gone more off in the direction of trying to bring the cinematic touch, to give everything a nice texture and character. Quite often either Voltage or Bladerunner might have come up with a concept, then I’d switch some sounds out to give it a bit more of a vintage sound. That’s kind of been my contribution. ‘Though saying that, I suppose there are as many tracks where one of us has started and got most of the way with it, then the others have finished it off, so it would be interesting to see who can guess who did what on which track. I’d say Bladerunner was very, very consistent with the melodies. The rest of it kind of divvied out.’ Comprising three of the scene’s best, drum and bass producer dream team Kings of the Rollers headline the Hospitality Bristol BBQ at Motion this month. With a history collabs between them spanning more than 10 years, Serum, Bladerunner and Voltage joined forces as a trio after an impromptu back-to-back-to-back on Rough Tempo radio in 2016.
We Consciously wanted to do something different In no time, the bookings were flying in, Hospital Records got on the phone and Kings of Rollers was born. While individually all three producers share some common ground, put three of them on the dials and the result is something to behold. ‘We consciously wanted to do something different’ Serum explains. ‘We didn’t want to be coming up with a new act that sounds the same as what we’ve done as a duo, or what we’ve done in our solo careers. ‘If there’s one word to describe how it’s different to our other music, I’d say that it’s a bit more cinematic. There’s big musical intros - even on the more dancefloor tracks - that really set a scene in a different way to what other artists are doing at the
moment. It’s not liquid, it’s not quite jump up. It kind of sits in its own little area.’ The fruit of this union ripened with their 17-track eponymous album, released at the end of April on Hospital Records. A true album with a thoughtful mixture of sound system bangers, jungle rhythms and walk to work rollers, with vocal tracks and hard-hitting MC features. Between the kicks and the snares, there is a highly listenable groove that means you could put the album on in the office or crank up the volume and start a dancefloor. Each producer has massively upped their game on this album and for Serum in particular, this meant moving away from samples and creating authentic melodies of his own. ‘One of the things for me was being able to get that vintage sound without sampling, and just doing it all myself. I’m always looking for a sample that makes me think “wow, how did they make that?” and I’m slowly learning the answers to that. ‘When you’re trying to push your career on, if you can write original stuff without clearing samples and it still sounds as good, then why not do it? ‘We’re able to create some different vibes that we couldn’t have done before. You can be more musical when you’re not relying on them. You can you can play samples in different pitches and stuff, but it’s not a substitute for just flat out being
Despite being one of the biggest labels in drum and bass, something we’ve heard time and time again about Hospital Records is that their artists are given the time and trust to develop a project to its full potential. Had a less scrupulous label signed the project straight off the bat, you might question whether it was driven by a formulaic idea that a successful recording artist to the power of three equals sales, whether or not the finished product could live up to the hype. This positive experience with Hospital is something that Serum can attest to, having spent the best part of a year in the studio with Voltage and Bladerunner, finding their combined direction and finishing an album that they’re truly happy with. ‘Kings of the Rollers is the big thing for us now, but at the beginning, the label’s involvement was something that maybe played on our minds a bit. But we worked out that we’re still doing our solo material, so the worst that can happen is that it doesn’t work out. But in reality, that was probably the easiest bit of it. ‘We’ve been doing this a long time, we know that there was a lot of expectation on us with the album, that we’d have to deliver something that is special and isn’t just 17 jump up bangers or whatever. We had to come up with something that stands up as an album. ‘I think what people don’t take into account sometimes when

that’s what I understand people did, they’d get in their car and drive. It’s getting a bit like that again. Kids are really interested in the music. When the political atmosphere in the country is as shocking as it is, people tend turn to music. I think that plays a part in things, because we’re going though a good patch for music at the moment.’ Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner will be heading to Bristol this month for the annual Hospitality summer BBQ, with Inja on the mic. As well as a chance to hear the album tracks played live, you can expect fast and furious energy and some tousling behind the decks.
Drum and bass is in a really good position ‘Inja is our guy. When we do our sets, he’s our MC. I work with him a lot too. He was MCing with me in Belgium years ago before I’d heard of him – and when you get put on with an MC you don’t know, the results are very up and down – but the minute I heard him, he just totally blew my hat off. Inja is always going to be a fixture of Kings of the Rollers in the sets and he’s got his spots on the album too.
they see what they think is some mega collaboration is that, yes, you’ve got like the abilities of three producers, but really you’re only going to get one mix down, there are only so many sounds you can put in the track. So if one of us is coming up with an idea, all three of us have to be on board with it. So we’re working that kind of stuff out, but it does lead down a different path, which is good. ‘I don’t think we’d have produced anything like this were it not the three of us and in that situation we were in. But what’s the point of doing an album with three of you, that you could do with two of you? Or that you could do with one of you? It has to sound different, it’s got to have another angle in there where you’re making the most of it. If people want your solo stuff, they can listen to your solo stuff.’ Though drum and bass crews are by no means new, they are fast becoming a dominating fixture of today’s drum and bass climate. The rise of groups like SASASAS and Shadow Demon Coalition has played a huge part in the current popularity of drum and bass, bringing together some of the scene’s best MCs and selling out arenas. However, Kings of the Rollers was the first producer-led team-up and they’ve since paved the way for others, such as Kenny Ken, Remarc and PotentialBadboy’s Jungle Warriors and newcomers Distress Signal. ‘I think once people started seeing a DJ-based group it made people think “we could have a go at that”. And there are
people who have that same natural workflow as we do, who know each other and can make it work.
Kings of the Rollers was the first producer-led team-up It’s nice to know that some of those people have watched us and got the idea from us. It’s always cool to know that you put a mark on the scene that wasn’t there before. ‘When someone gets out there and smashes it up, it opens doors for everybody else. Big promoters actually start thinking, “people like this, let’s pour some money into it” and the scene moves on. That’s definitely something we’ve been seeing. Drum and bass is in a really good position at the moment. Everyone’s got a lot of bookings. Loads of people I’m a fan of are doing really well, so long may that continue. ‘There’s a generation of kids who are bang on it – they just absolutely love it. For a long time in my career it was hard to get people to go out to a club in their own city, let alone travel. Now I can go and see the same faces – it doesn’t matter where I am in the country – people travelling around to go to raves. I was unfortunately too young to see the very birth of rave, but
‘Our sets are very spontaneous. It’s a mixture of us trying to get the best out of each other and sometimes trying to draw a tune on the other person that they haven’t heard to try and catch them out. Or playing a tune that you know the other DJ is going to play before they can – which then takes them down a different road. It makes it really exciting for us and if you catch us on one of our best sets, you’ll see us having a good laugh behind the decks – we have fun with it.’ The Hospitality BBQ is only their first stop off in Bristol this summer, returning next month for NASS, before joining forces with Shadow Demon Coalition to create ultra group Kings of the Shadows at Sequences in August. And Serum assures us that there will be much more yet from Kings of the Rollers. ‘We’re all in, definitely. We’re going to have a little bit of time to regroup once we see how the album has gone. At the moment we’re writing solo material to play in the sets to make them more exciting, as well as learning some new stuff for the next project and gathering some new ideas. But we’ll be working towards the next album once we’re ready.’

BIMM BRISTOL PRESENTS LOCAL TALENT
THE ST. PIERRE SNAKE INVASION
After four years, Bristol punk rock band The St. Pierre Snake Invasion are back with new album Caprice Enchanté – and it goes in hard. Opening up with a wall of sound as though the song is already in motion, we’re forced into aural submission with the frantic The Safety Word is Oklahoma. Halfway through the track, the guitars fall back and make way for a rhythmic, breathy bridge from frontman Damien, setting us up for what is to be a more vocally diverse record than their previous, A Hundred Years and a Day. Though fans needn’t worry that this is at cost to their inherent heaviness, with sore throats and mosh pits guaranteed when they play it live for the first time at The Fleece this June.
As soon as you listen, you’re in ‘We wanted it to feel like you turn it on and it’s immediate. You don’t have to be brought or dragged into it. As soon as you listen, you’re in’ Damien explains.
‘The first album was supposed to be an EP. We had three days in the studio and we did three songs in the first three hours. We had another two and a half days left to do one song, so our producer said, we’ll do an album. We didn’t really have much time to think about sequence in the songs or how the album would flow – it was just a case of whatever we’ve got, we’ll record. With this one, because we’ve had four years, there’s a lot more consideration of how it starts or how it rolls into the next song. We just thought the best way to open is have that immediacy there. Like when you watch films, if it starts with a gun shot or something you’re immediately drawn into it.’ Formed in 2011, The St. Pierre Snake Invasion is Damien Sayell on vocals, Szack Notaro and Patrick Daly both on guitar and back up vocals, and Sam James on drums. Dave Larkin played bass on Caprice Enchanté, but left in late 2017 to join Black Peaks. However new bassist Sanjay Patel is ready to take it live, and Damien assures us that their current iteration is their best set up yet. Though they’ve seen a few lineup changes over the years, The St. Pierre Snake Invasion fan base hasn’t wavered, despite

going off grid for four years; and you can expect their album launch at The Fleece to be a sweaty one. Caprice Enchanté is a record about contrasts and a reflection upon ego, although this is a theme that developed as Damien was writing it, he tells us. ‘Initially it was about romanticism. I was thinking about when I first started playing guitar when I was 13 or 14. I assumed that by the time I was 30, I’d have my own record label and I’d be touring the world – and that didn’t happen, obviously. ‘But slowly it morphed into my entitlement and thinking I deserve all of these things. And it became more about getting older, letting go of that kind of bullshit and just recognising unattractive parts of myself. ‘I realised that all I was doing was thinking about myself and how I hadn’t achieved the things that I wanted. Watching IDLES – some of my best friends – get bigger, there was a lot of “why them and not me?” ‘What I realised was that this sense of entitlement was
LOCAL TALENT // 41 Vincent Millay. I read it in Christopher Hitchen’s autobiography Hitch–22, where he talks about being a borderline alcoholic – not that I’m a borderline alcoholic – but it’s about staying up to the early hours of the morning and it’s about going for that second bottle of whisky. In the poem she says ‘My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night; But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends – It gives a lovely light! ‘While we were writing this I was doing a lot of drinking and had a lot of really drunken chats at seven in the morning at lock ins and stuff. I just thought it was a nice way to pay tribute to that. Again, trying to come to terms with getting older and fighting against it – that contrast. ‘There are a few parts of songs in Caprice Enchanté that nod towards the first album, and there are song ideas I have for the third album that will nod to this album as well. They’re not that obvious, I won’t talk about them, but with the writing I do try and tie things in.’ The full album is set to drop this month – with a limited run of 300 vinyl, as well as digitally and on CD – and though the reaction to Casanovacaine, their only single release, has been overwhelmingly positive, the weight of four years behind them adds an inevitable pressure for Caprice Enchanté to be well received. Though having previewed the full album, we don’t think they’ve got anything to be worried about. ‘It’s such a weird one. I’m at the point now where I’m just

I don’t want to get too excited that I’m disappointed, but then I don’t want to be too reserved that I don’t enjoy what happens. representative of why we’re in the situation we are now with politics. The onus I put my identity and the importance of being a songwriter led me to be envious and make poor choices and not fully celebrate someone else’s success as much as I should have, because I felt as though I deserved that as well. I think with England and the UK, it’s the same thing. This loss of identity and the importance of being British has led us to this place where we’ve made a crazy decision and we’re steadfast in it, and that’s kind of where I was a couple of years ago when we were writing this.’ Caprice Enchanté is not only a more introspective record in terms of lyrical content, but also in its vocal and instrumental range, with some more classic rock or even grungy sounds coming through the heaviness. ‘The first album was all done live, so whatever I was doing while we were playing is what came out. It was just one mic in a room, without even headphones – it was just a monitor. They say there’s two ways you can make an album, you can either take a photograph or you can build a house. “The first one was not necessarily a photo, but more like we were doing 50 miles
an hour in a 20 zone and got papped. Whereas this one, we wanted to build a house. I wanted to be able to make sure that my takes were there, which allowed for more room to be more diverse in how I use my my voice.’
it became more about getting older, letting go of that kind of bullshit and just recognising unattractive parts of myself The 47-second intermission I Gave a Lovely Light is a good example of this range, particularly when held up to its much more ferocious counterpart Like a Rag to a Red Bull on their first album, ‘which is also about getting drunk!’ Damien says. ‘I Gave a Lovely Light is adapted from a poem by Edna St.
‘In an ideal world, we’ll sell out The Fleece, we’ll sell 300 vinyl, go on tour, get picked up by a label and have lots of opportunity. Or it’ll fall flat on its face. The reality is that it will be somewhere in between there and I’m trying to just make sure I enjoy whatever that is.’ Although the album has been years in the making, with some songs having been written even before the first album was released, it seems like there couldn’t be a better time for The St. Pierre Snake Invasion to return to Bristol’s live scene. Over the last few years, after what’s felt like a long time of electronic dominance, we’ve seen the rise of heavier Bristol bands like IDLES, No Violet and Heavy Lungs. It’s a motion that’s taken hold nationally. In 2019, we’ve seen IDLES at the Brit Awards and rock bands back at the top of Reading and Leeds where they belong. ‘I think it is because of what’s happening in the world. Particularly online, there seems to be a lot of vitriol. There’s a lot frustration, there’s a lot of anger. And anger is a very immediate emotion, you don’t necessarily feel anger for long periods of time – it’s very acute, it’s very short lived bursts of really intense emotion. And I think with heavier music, it has that kind of immediacy. When you hear an angry song, it’s an immediate thing. I think angrier bands are resonating more now, because more people are angry. Or maybe people have always been angry, but they’re more aware that there are things they should be angry about and that it’s okay to be angry about them, so they they gravitate towards those heavier bands.’ One of the things that has won The St. Pierre Snake Invasion fans is their reputation for putting on an excellent live show. But when they make a return to stage at The Fleece this month, it might also might be your only opportunity to hear the album played live in full from start to finish. ‘I like the idea of just doing the album start to finish. It’s an album launch! And it makes sense to open with the first song as well. But it will probably be the only time we’ll ever do it. There are a few songs we’ve never done before. In rehearsal, we played the album’s closing song Lonely Tourist – and we realised why we never play it! But we’re going to get some people in to do additional instrumentation and we’ll play some other golden oldies too.’

THE INFLUENCERS // BEHIND THE SCENES WITH
LATOYAH MCALLISTER-JONES St Pauls Carnival is a celebration of the rich African-Caribbean roots that flow through Bristol. The streets flock with locals and visitors who come to experience the music, art, food and culture that connect this city to Caribbean and African shores. It is a tradition that is cherished by locals and its importance to the identity of Bristol remains imperative. One person that recognises that as much as anyone is LaToyah McAllister-Jones, the new executive director of St Pauls Carnival. Nitelife had the opportunity to sit down with her and find out more about her story and her thoughts on the Carnival.
spaces that they wouldn’t normally have access to, and also telling our stories in non-traditional spaces.’ Her two and a half years at Ujima gave LaToyah the chance to get to know her local community – and the individuals in it – a lot better. So, when the opportunity to be the executive director of St Pauls Carnival came around a second time, she was much more equipped to take it. ‘In that time I got to know so much about the AfricanCaribbean community, and the creatives and artists in it. So
LaToyah brought her family from Brighton to Bristol, after originally living in London, and says one of the key factors to that move was ‘the roots that are very deep and embedded into the city’. She insisted it was important that her children grew up in a city with a strong African-Caribbean community.
LaToyah has been an avid Carnival attendee since her youth, she recalled attending Notting Hill Carnival as an eight year old and being amazed by the ‘mind blowing sounds, food and people’ and a culture that really resonated with her, being half Guyanese and half Jamaican. These early experiences are part of what enticed her into getting involved with St Pauls Carnival; however, she didn’t take the role until her second opportunity to do so.
LaToyah also wants to keep the performances as Bristol based as possible, to showcase local talent and give them a platform to show off their work. ‘We have a Bristol first policy at St Pauls Carnival. We’re really about showcasing Bristol talent. We have a homegrown section on each of our stages where artists from Bristol get to showcase their talent in collectives. It’s all about what’s coming out of our city.
‘I was interested in the role when I moved to Bristol, but I didn’t have enough knowledge about the city and I just didn’t have enough experience’.
‘We want to encourage and bring people into our home as well; we had one hundred thousand people come last year. So although we’re working with that Bristol first policy, we are also interested in inviting quality talent from outside of the city to come along and get involved in the Carnival and bring in people from outside to come and explore.’
LaToyah’s career path has been an interesting one, and one that has kept her deeply involved with whatever community she is in. ‘I started out in the homelessness sector, working towards social justice and equality. I think what draws me to most of my roles is that I’m driven by these things.’ Following that, she took on a consultancy role where she would help small social businesses with team development and people development.
It’s about paying homage and acknowledging their achievements ‘The thread that runs through these organisations is that they all contribute significantly to achieving social equality. It’s about giving a platform to the creativity of black and ethnic minority artists and moving those artists into traditional
Bristol is famous for its connection to the Caribbean sound system culture which birthed some of the city’s favourite music genres such and drum and bass, dubstep and grime, and dub music. And LaToyah believes it is important for there to be a celebration of this music, where it came from and what it means to the city. ‘I see St Pauls Carnival as being a conversation between the African Caribbean community and the wider city. I think the music tradition is really important in this city and St Pauls stands out from other Caribbean Carnivals because Bristol has a very strong Jamaican sound system tradition. So I’m really keen to keep that in place in terms of the stages and the artists’ performances.’
‘Brighton’s great, but it’s nowhere near as diverse and it doesn’t have the subculture of somewhere like this that feels much older and much more developed’ she says.
But it was her time at Bristol radio station Ujima that helped her reach the position she is in now. Working as the head of operations, she was playing a vital role in pushing for social equality through creativity within her community.
We have a Bristol first policy at St Pauls Carnival. We’re really about showcasing Bristol talent
LaToyah is also very keen to push the importance of this year’s theme – ‘our journey’ –as well, which she says is ‘based on the originators, the elders within the community who overcame obstacles and personal struggles around finding a new identity and belonging. It’s about paying homage and acknowledging their achievements. when that when the job offer came again, I thought “okay, let me give this a go”.’ With this year’s Carnival being her first as director, LaToyah says she is determined to make it an ‘engaging, fun and inclusive day for everybody. ‘This year I’m really focussing on what we offer families. I’m also really keen to make sure that we have the participation – the great support in the city and within the community – to make sure that people are able to access Carnival in lots of different ways. If you’re a trader, come and trade. If you want to help out, come and volunteer for us. ‘At this stage, with not long to go, I’m really focused on just making sure that those foundation elements – the procession, the sound systems and the great talent on the stages – are of really high quality.’
‘You will find that celebration of their achievements embedded across the whole carnival. You’ll see it in the procession; you’ll hear it on the stages. The theme is really important to us this year and I think it’s something that resonates with everybody – with all our own individual journeys.’
