2. ANALYSIS OF SETTLEMENT a. CONNECTIVITY The entry of the village is define by the traditional gate with leading to a village bus stand. Ten years back there was no bus stop available for the people of village, people have to walk till NH22 which is 11 km from the village. The weak transportation and communication was the major reason behind the slow development of the village. And five years back the new bus stop has been constructed with in the village. In 2016, village people decided to have a road within the village, to have an access for small vehicles within the village. The main old street loop which connects the two main temples of the village is on their way to convert into the roads. The transformation process of the main street into main road is under process. The 50% of the road construction was completed last year and rest is still under construction. With the road development process slowly few roadside shops started emerging. Laprang Temple

2) ZONING BASED OF COMMUNITY The cast system was very strong long before the modernisation struck into the village. Cast system played also played a role in planning of the village. The lower region of the slope of the village was for the care taker of the monastery and the temple. From all other three sides was for the lower class families. But now the upper class people are also started building their houses on the periphery of the village. Which basically reflect the change in culture of the village.

There are two big nodes in the village which are likely to become a main foci area in a village after the construction of the road will get finished. Medium sized nodes are the most active places due to the function, shops or a religious activities. Smaller nodes are the less active junctions of main street and the secondary streets.

The two major land marks in a village are Santang temple in upper village and Thingur temple lower village. The Santang temple has the stupa at centre of the temple land for Parikrama and Thingur temple has the traditional temple roof design with unique yellow colour on the roof top. The temple also have a Parikrama path all around it which is unique as compare to all other temple. Another main landmark of the village is a Peepal tree which is tallest tree in a village and can be seen from various point of areas. People of village worship the tree because the Buddha is said to have gained enlightenment under a Sacred Peepal called the Bodhi Tree.
