On behalf of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ), allow me to welcome you to the 47th annual NORTHEAST Automotive Services Trade Show!
Although this will be my first NORTHEAST as president of AASP/NJ, I have had the pleasure of attending the show for several years and I have never come away without making a new connection, learning something I didn’t know about improving my business or finding a fantastic bargain on a new tool or piece of equipment.
This year’s NORTHEAST is loaded with every facet of automotive repair education. From Thursday’s “Know Your Numbers” finanical workshop to THREE Collision Advice seminars; expert panels on ADAS and the future of our industry; presentations on topics such as certification, blueprinting, consolidation, EVs, business succession, and much more, I promise you will not leave NORTHEAST without gaining more knowledge on how to succeed in this crazy business of ours.

Being Elite in a Consolidated Market

As shops become more specialized through OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certifications, they are catching criticism from third party payers who have a lack of understanding for the value of proper repairs. Independent collision centers maintaining OEM certifications should not operate under the same restrictions as high-volume direct repair facilities. There are higher costs involved, especially with luxury models, but with mass market vehicles as well.
This presentation’s intent is to illustrate to independent vehicle repair businesses how to express their differences to reduce push back and gain reimbursement for the OEM required operations.
Being elite should not be a punishment but instead recognized as a mark of excellence.
• Understand how to communicate to a customer why having their vehicle repaired at a certified repair facility is a benefit.
