They make sense’ […] It’s not going to happen that way; it never happens that way […] What I need to do – and what you need to do – is reach out to the people [with whom] you have a relationship in the Legislature and ask them to co-sponsor both of these bills.” Glodis’ words clearly had an impact. By the end of February, AASP/MA members were responsible for securing an additional 37 sponsors for “An Act Relative to the Licensure of Appraisers” (bringing the total to 46 when counting the two lead sponsors and seven co-sponsors already lined up prior to the February 23 meeting). Similar AASP/MA member outreach greatly benefited “An Act to Establish Minimum Reimbursement Rate to Insurance Claimants,” with 24 additional sponsors coming on board in only three days’ time. Only two sponsors (including the lead sponsors) had been in place prior to the association’s legislative contact campaign. These figures stand as proof that support, enthusiasm and action from the AASP/MA community truly makes a difference.
