SOFTBALL COMMITTEE The NJCAA Division I Softball Committee is responsible for setting policies and procedures for the approval by the NJCAA Board of Directors. This committee is made up of NJCAA Region Directors, Assistant Region Directors and the NJCAA Softball Coaches Association President.

Each NJCAA Region Director will submit, in rank order with overall records, the top teams in their region for poll consideration. The region rankings will then be handed over to Sectional Directors to create a Top 20. The NJCAA will release seven Division I softball rankings on a weekly basis beginning March 14. In order for a team to be eligible for ranking they first must have their schedule/ results and stats up to date on the NJCAA website. They must also then be submitted by their region director to the national office for poll consideration. The NJCAA Top 20 will be released each poll date on the NJCAA (www.njcaa.org) website.

YAVAPAI COLLEGE: 2011 DI SOFTBALL CHAMPIONS Yavapai Blanks Salt Lake 7-0 for 2011 DI Softball National Championship For the second time in three years, Yavapai College, Ariz. (67-4) climbed to the top of the NJCAA softball world as the Lady Roughriders won the 2011 Division I Women's Softball National Championship with a convincing 7-0 triumph over Salt Lake Community College, Utah (56-9) at the Canyons Complex in St. George, Utah. Yavapai, which came in as the top-ranked team in the country and the tournament's No. 1 seed, rode a strong performance by the Tournament's Most Outstanding Pitcher and MVP Estela Pinon, while the Lady Roughrider offense provided all the runs she would need.
