DJ LadyJ and DJ Spicy recently had the chance to sit down with Bryan Abrams, formerly the lead singer of the 90s group, “Color Me Badd”. During the interview, they learned who his musical influences were, as well as how music became an escape to him. They talked about his addiction to alcohol and drugs, as well as many other obstacles he faced before his sobriety. He spoke about the support that his wife Kim gives him, as well as his upcoming projects. They also spoke about his documentary that was recently released called, “Flowers In the Addict”, which is about his struggles with addiction and becoming sober. The documentary can be streamed on the “Flowers in the Addict” website.

Bryan’s story inspired a new show on the station that will be hosted by DJ Lady J and DJ V, where they will talk to people that have overcome obstacles and are an inspiration to others. The first show was also part of that interview. Bryan said that one of his main purposes in life now is to be a source of inspiration to people and family members struggling with mental health issues, as well as guiding them to the best resources for helping cope and/or overcome those issues.

Chasen (Chase) Hampton of The Party and a member of the 90s “Mickey Mouse Club” talked with DJ StickyAngel and DJ V in an exclusive interview about his career and future projects. He talked about his life on the “Mickey Mouse Club”, the club’s New Kids on the Block connection, and how his life was shaped thanks to being on the show.

Chase continued to talk about his life with Disney’s musical group, “The Party” and appreciated us for remembering former member Tiffini Hale, who passed away earlier in 2022. He also covered topics about his personal career as well as events he’s participated in with other members of the “The Party” and other “Mickey Mouse Club” castmates.

DJ Konfetti and Kevin had an amazing opportunity to sit down with music artist Nitty Green. Nitty’s real name is Michael Best. Nitty is best known for the infamous bathroom scene in the 1989 movie, “Lean on Me”. He talked about his time on the set with Morgan Freeman. They also talked to him about his 1990s R&B group, Riff. Nitty has new music out, as well as some upcoming projects that they discussed. He hosts a podcast regularly on his Facebook page, called Vibe Sessions.

Recently, a teenage dream became reality for DJ JP and DJ Spicy when they sat down and spoke with Ray Acevedo of the boyband, Menudo. He briefly spoke about the “Menudo Forever Young'' documentary that was recently released on HBO Max. He shared a few stories of when the group was on tour and spoke about his new music, his acting career, as well as many other projects that he has planned for the near future.

DJ StickyAngel and DJ Konfetti sat down for an exclusive interview with Jennifer McGill from “The Mickey Mouse Club”. She talked about her life on the show and all the experience she gained as one of the cast members. She also talked about working on the “MMC Album” that she recorded with fellow castmates, including Tony Lucca and Rhona Benett. She also discussed her signature song “Hanging on for Dear Life” and how it has made an impact on peopleʼs lives over the years.

During the interview, Jennifer gave an exclusive tease on special merchandise related to “The Mickey Mouse Club” that will soon be released on her website. She also announced her new role as president of “PCG Artist Development”, which is a company that provides education and mentoring for those artists wanting to work in the music industry.

Roger talked to us about everything from his family life, and his decision to move from New Jersey back to his home state of Kansas, to the ins and out’s of recording his new album and why this will be his last full length album. Jaime (DJ Lady J) had the opportunity to sit down with Zieme Capers from The Force M.D.'s about their street naming and special ceremony on Staten Island on August 27. The street was originally Brabrant Street and Grandview Avenue, and it is now called, “The Force MD’s Way”! Jaime and Zieme talked about some of the history of the group, as well as the street and ceremony itself. He said it was a really special moment to see the street sign being unveiled, to be a special part of the group, and his family’s legacy. The housing complex where his uncles (The Force M.D.'s) grew up is actually on the street and the city council threw a big street party there in the parking lot to celebrate the occasion. Each member of the group got a replica of the street sign to always remember the special tribute. Force M.D.’s Day in Staten Island will be given within the next year. Zieme and Jaime also talked about his solo career, as well as upcoming events for both him and the group.

Recently, Ryan Lane of Illtown Sluggaz sat down with Kevin and DJ Konfetti, as he spoke about his upbringing, experience and ambition about The Arts as a child. He talked about how he wanted to make his dreams come true. They also spoke about his experiences in the Harlem Boys Choir, as well as how he became involved in Illtown Sluggaz. He spoke about his new music and experiences on the 2022 “Mixtape Tour”.

Recently, DJ Loop D Loop along with DJ Lady J had the pleasure of interviewing Travis Nesbitt of The Boy Band Project. The Boy Band Project is an awesome Broadway tribute to various boy bands that showcase their talent, energy, dance, along with music. During his interview, Travis explained how all the actors and singers met and how The Boy Band Project came together. He spoke about their two songs, “Get Behind My Love” and “Jingle My Bells”. He also spoke briefly about their recurring Boy Band Brunch events. He told us who his boyband inspirations were and narrowed down his top 10 boybands for us.

DJ Jenny and DJ StickyAngel had the pleasure of sitting down to talk with Justin Fabus, one of our associated artists. Justin is no stranger to the staff and listeners of NK Airplay Radio. This was our third interview with Justin, and you can listen to his music anytime on regular rotation here at the station.

We talked about what went into making his third upcoming album, and we got a sneak peek of the first single, “Dead in the Water” that he released at the beginning of July. He also talked to us about what it was like to work with country superstar Trace Adkins and what he would be doing if he wasn’t doing music. He even told us about past jobs he held while waiting for his big break in the music industry.
