If you ask me why I am thankful, there are many reasons. Most importantly, I’m thankful for my family because without them, I don’t know what or where I would be. The second reason I’m thankful is my extended family which includes everyone at NK Airplay. They have become my family even though we are all over the US and across the pond. But we have a wonderful time together just hanging out. I’m also thankful for my friends whom I chat with on a daily basis because life would be boring without them. So, there you have a few of my many reasons why I’m thankful every day. They mostly involve my family and friends, my job, and my health.

OMG! There are so many things that I am thankful for: Of course, all my family and friends, my job, and co-workers, my extended BH and BSB families, as well as NKOTB and BSB. Without you all over the last year and a half, I don’t know where I would be. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. NKOTB’s and BSB’s music has helped me get through it all.

I am so very thankful for all the support I have received the last few months. I lost my mom in January. I’m going through some significant back issues, and we’re still doing school at home because of the pandemic. If something can go wrong, it does go wrong these days. My husband and son have been so patient. My family and dear friends have held me up, and the list goes on. Things have been more low than high, but the silver lining has been abundant.

It has now been more than six years since I left an abusive marriage. That’s an incredible feat in itself, but, even more, during these years, I have learned to be authentic and to fully deconstruct my prior misguided religious beliefs. I changed my name to recognize this incredible transformation that shows in who I now am: my identity, my relationships, and my long-term goals. I removed the toxicity around me that existed in previous friendships, family relationships, and subconsciously suppressed emotions. So, I guess I am thankful for myself for being open to change and wanting to work on myself. I’ve realized that there is no one else I can thank. Only I can make the conscious choices for who I am. And I am grateful for finally realizing that having pride in myself is not a bad thing.
