NLCS Jeju has a proud history which stretches back over 170 years. North London Collegiate School was founded in North London, United Kingdom in 1850 by Ms. Frances Mary Buss. Ms. Buss was a true pioneer of education for girls. She believed in equality for all and set up a school which prospered and thrived and has changed the face of learing for girls. Ms. Buss, supported by her family, was in place for over forty years and the care and nature of every girl who studied there was her priority.

Following in her footsteps were other strong and pioneering educators including Ms. Isabella Drummond, Ms. Sophie Bryant and Ms. Kitty Anderson. A more recent Headmistress was Ms. Bernice McCabe, was Headmistress for over twenty years and was well known for her belief in the transformational powers of the performing arts. She had a vision of NLCS in the world of international education and her drive and ambition saw the opening of NLCS Jeju in 2011.

NLCS Jeju is the founding school in Global Education City - a centre of international education on the idyllic South Korean island of Jeju. NLCS Jeju is now well known to Korean parents as a school which nurtures and develops global citizens of today and tomorrow.
