Year12ʼshavebeenbusywithAnnualExams,whilsttheYear13ʼshavebeingexperiencingthefirstlull inproductivitysincetheystartedtheirIBcoursesbackinAugust2023. Weareveryproudofhowwell theyear12ʼshaveshowntheircollectiveresilienceandcollaborationstudyingtogether.Welook forwardtohearingabouttheirprogressandseeingwhatnextstepsneedtobetakenafterthebreak.The Year13ʼsnowneedtoturntheirattentiontotheirfinalpreparationsfortheexaminationswhichbeginin lessthanamonth.CoreisdoneandmanyarefinishingtheirCAS.AfabulousChemistrytripthatrounded outtheirCoretimeforthisterm,wasamuchneededoff-sitelearningexperience,thatthe Year13Halla Eastgirlsreallyenjoyed.

CongratulationsYr13-thelastoftheCAS projectsisdone.Twogirlsmanagedtosneak pastMsCoughlanbuthavefinishedtheirCAS instyle.
Yifei(Nancy)Gaowent overthehalftermbreak tocompeteintheYunding Cup Ivy Events Youth Ski Open at theYunding Ski Resort in Chongli, Zhangjiakou whereshewonGold.
I competed in bothAlpine skiing and snowboarding for the first time on consecutive days, which made it challenging to adapt and switch techniques quickly. However, instead of wasting any time after the snowboarding competition, I immediately got into my skis and started practising.This helped me adjust quickly and familiarise myself with the different techniques.
It was my first international tournament, and it provided me with invaluable experience. I thoroughly enjoyed competing against athletes from around the world. Eventually, I earned 1st place in theAlpine Giant Slalom and 2nd place in Snowboard Racing. :)

IncollaborationwiththeboysinHallaNorth, theY12sgotcookingfortheirmostrecent outduction.Theyweregiveneitherriceor pastaandeitherchickenorgroundporkand avarietyofvegetables.Intheirgroupsthey hadonehourtocomeupwith,prepare,and cookameal.
Theideabehindthisoutductionsessionisto focusthestudentsonwhathappensafter schoolwhentheywonʼtnecessarilyhave threecookedmealspreparedforthem daily.
Therewastalkaboutfoodhygienewhilstthey cuttheproteinandvegetables.Allthemeals werejudgedanditwasanenjoyablelearning experience.
