TheMockʼsdominatefortheYr13ʼs,astheystartedtheseonreturningfromthebreak.Theytook the“TimeZoneContainment”intheirstrideandtheywereallactivelyencouragedtoensurethey hadstudymaterialsthattheycoulduse.TheMockscheduleisalwaysdemandingandwearevery proudofthegirlswhosatalltheirexamshighlightingtheirresilience.Manygirlswerejuggling universityinterviewstoo.WehadseveralgirlsreceiveOxbridgeinterviewsputtingthemintothe elite10%ofstudents.ManyotheroffershavecomethroughfromboththeUSandUK.Somehave EarlyDecisionplacementsandweareverypleasedforthem,thoughtheyneedtoensurethat theydonotsitbackandcontinuetomaintaintheirworkethic.Thisisaanxioustimeforsome, especiallyparentsandstudentswithnosafetynetinplaceasyet,aswewaittohearthefinal offers.ThegirlsareintheprocessofseeinghowtheirMockpredictionsalignedwithrealityand planningthestepstheyneedtotaketocapitaliseontheirsuccesses.

AsBoardingmistress,Ihavehadthepleasureofworkingclosely withbothJaeEun,LizandHanjuthroughouttheirIBjourney andweareveryhappywiththeirOxbridgeacceptance.
TeachingHanjuforherChemistryiGCSE, Iknewhowdrivenshe wasandthehighstandardtowhichsheholdsherself accountable.Shehaslearnthowtobalancetheseexpectations andself-regulateduringhertimeinHallaEast.Supervisingher EEhighlightedformethelevelofcuriosityandcommitment thatshebringstoheracademicswhilstalsoremindingme whatajoyitistomentorastudentlikeHanju!

Agreatopportunitythatboardinggivesusistheabilityto studywithfriendsinasupportiveandmotivating environment.Sometimesitʼsdifficulttogetthingsdone onyourown,sohavingstudypartnersreallyhelpswith stayingproductive.Also,ifweevergetstuckonan assignment,itʼsmuchquickerandcomfortabletoaska nearbyfriendforhelp.Whetheritʼspreparingforexams orjustcasuallyrevisingmaterial,studyingwithfriends makeslearningmoreengagingandlessstressful.We foundthatitalsofostersteamwork,makingacademic successfeellikeasharedachievementratherthanan individualstruggle.-JaeheeYoonandJuwonRyu
I'vebeenplayingallthreesquadsportsvolleyball,basketball,andfootball-since Year10,whichkeepsmebusywith trainingmostdaysoftheweek.This basketballseason,Ipracticewithmy teammateseveryweekdayfrom5:30to 6:30,plusanextraCCAhouronTuesdays andThursdays.TheupcomingBasketball KISAConFebruary14th~15thhasbeen mydrivingforceforthepastfewmonths, pushingmetotrainevenharder. Theintensetrainingleavesme exhausted,butsportshavetaughtme discipline,helpingmestaycommittedto academicsdespitethefatigue.Italso improvesmysleep,whichhenceboosts myperformanceinschool.Beyondfitness andcompetition,sportshavegivenme lastingfriendships;thereʼssomething specialaboutthe“sportsbond”formed onthecourtbetweenteammates.-Eunri Kim
