We have had a busy period in Halla North since returning after the Christmas break. The Year Thirteen students had their mock exams and continue to receive offers for universities all over the world. The Year Twelve students are currently doing their annual exams.
Here in Halla North, we strive to provide the kind of environment where students can flourish and feel part of a ‘home away from home’. I have been proud of the successes that our Halla North community have enjoyed and look forward to sharing in the continuing success of the very strong cohorts we have in Year Twelve and Thirteen.
I hope you have a good Easter break and enjoy your time with your sons!
Halla North students continue to receive acceptance letters from some of the finest universities in the World. Halla North students have so far been accepted to New York University, Northwestern University, Trinity College Dublin, and other top-tier universities. We wish these students every success in the future and look forward to hearing about the ever more impressive institutions where our boys will continue their education after graduating from NLCS Jeju.
All the Year 12 boarders gathered for a fun night of activities and delicious food to celebrate their entry into sixth-form boarding. Along with a multi-course meal, they played games to get to know each other better.
The Year 13 students teamed up to share their study strategies. Some discussed prioritization, while others introduced methods like the Pomodoro technique. These skills will be invaluable for their future IB exams.
Y13 Halla North and Halla East students participated in a simulation that helped them develop financial planning skills, an essential asset for their future.
The Year 12 boarders put their cooking skills and teamwork to the test by preparing delicious meals with the provided ingredients. They are now ready to cook homemade meals when they go to university!
Research shows that quality sleep is crucial for students' success. A good night’s sleep is the best preparation for a busy school day.
Due to ongoing issues with lateness and sleep discipline, we are implementing stricter sanctions.
At Halla North, we emphasize healthy sleep habits to support learning and well-being.
Throughout the year, we have focused on addressing sleep deficits affecting punctuality.
Morning lateness will result in lost privileges and an evening sanction.
Repeated offenses will lead to further consequences, with parents informed.
We continue to promote sleep discipline and introduce effective sleep strategies.
Late students will study downstairs to complete homework efficiently, allowing more sleep at night.
We hope these measures improve punctuality and promote healthy sleeping habits.
