A word from ms Sangster It has been an incredible first term for Pyoseon boarding home. It was a term that started with reservations for many. Returning boarders were worried about the new boarding changes and new students were nervous for the start of their first year in a new school. We also welcomed new boarding staff and families to the house who had travelled from far away to join the rest of us at NLCS. Despite these hesitations everyone has been extremely resilient and shown endless kindness to one another. The girls have all grown in confidence in their new environment and the girls of Pyoseon home have started to become a family. Over the course of the term we have done many exciting things from parties to off-site trips. The amazing year 11 leadership team, Min, Melody and Lizzie should be thanked for their organisation and ideas. Over the winter break I would like to encourage you all to rest and spend time with your family. The girls have had a very busy term, where they have been working hard and all deserve a much needed break. I know that some students have mocks after the break but it is still important that they take some time out to relax and have fun. For when the girls return in January I would like to remind parents of the rules around secondary devices and school uniform regulations. Many girls return from break with very short skirts and long sharp fingernails that are not appropriate for school. As always the Pyoseon staff are here to care and support your daughters as best we can. Please continue to contact us at any time. I hope that you all enjoy the winter break and have a wonderful holiday.
House Prefects & committee
Pyoseon’s new leaders have been working hard this term to keep things exciting and festive in the run up to Christmas. Remember that their doors are always open if you need a chat or some advice.
Academic Prefect
Hi everyone, I’m Yena your academic prefect! With a bigger house, there are limitations to getting to know everyone, but feel free to contact me or just knock on my door (4th-floor girl’s side)! It’s been an exhausting first term for everyone, so please make sure you get plenty of sleep and rest before starting another exciting term after Christmas! I know some of us might be especially stressed from mock exams coming up right after the break, but remember: we’re all in this together and we will persevere through it and absolutely smash it! Have a jolly Christmas with loved ones, everyone, and make sure you behave extra well for Santa! 🎅 🎁 🎄

What have we done so far Pyoseon has been filled with lots of festive fun this term. We have been cooking tteobbeoki and baking Christmas treats! The Gingerbread men were especially good and the house has been smelling amazing thanks to the girl’s culinary skills. We’ve had opportunities to go on house trips shopping in Tapdong, been drinking in cute coffee shops, and spending our pocket money in Tapdong! Recently, our weekends have been filled with festive fun, decorating the house, Christmas quizzes, karaoke, and and getting all dressed up for a Christmas party. A huge congratulations to our House Captain and Events Prefect for putting together a hilarious PowerPoint for us all for our Cosy Christmas Pyjama party.
weekend activities
Christmas Party Last weekend we had a Cosy Christmas Pyjama party. It began with marshmallowy hot chocolate and sweet popcorn, whilst we watched the fireworks, and lit the sparklers. Then, our inhouse-musical-superstar Jasmine (yr 10) sang us a beautiful Christmas song which got everyone in the cosy Christmas mood. Ms Sangster gave out awards to the boarders who had worked really hard in Pyoseon to be kind, welcoming and stick to the rules. So a massive well done to all those girls who won this term! The party then carried on with the Secret Santa gifts and then a brilliant presentation from the Year 11s. Some hilarious awards were given out to the Pyoseon girls, led by Stella, our House Captain, and Sophia, the Events Prefect. Everyone was in tears as students won awards for The Most Money Spent on Coupang, and The Boarder Who Eats the Most Ramen. Finally, we ended with some classic Christmas Karaoke tunes. By the end of the night everyone was exhausted and very happy. A huge thank you to everyone who helped out to make the night magical!
