At first, we felt a bit uncertain about leading the weekly group meetings. But Mr. Sannegadu quickly picked up on this and casually encouraged us to step up with more confidence. Both Mr. Tuffs and Mr. Sannegadu have always worked incredibly hard often even harder than us motivating us to stay prepared for anything.
Our StuCo members, every single one of them, are so talented, creative, and engaging, making our meetings a truly supportive and positive space. I’ve genuinely loved spending time with this amazing group and have learned so much from them.
Over the year, I’ve become a more organised person and developed stronger, more engaging communication skills. I hope the Student Council continues to strengthen this warm and comfortable atmosphere, growing into an even more impactful and supportive group for the student body next year.
The Student Council recently organised two new student lunches, specifically for Year 7 and Year 8 students. These events were led by the enthusiastic Year 7 and Year 8 Student Council representatives, with support from our Student Council chair, Angela, who helped coordinate and oversee the gatherings. The lunches served as an excellent opportunity for new students to connect with their peers in a friendly and relaxed setting. They were encouraged to share their experiences, ask questions, and learn more about school life and the role of the Student Council.
Last week, Jeoji dominated, but this week, Noro is closing in with just a 0.3% difference! Meanwhile, the other houses have some serious catching up to do.
Every point counts, so get involved, participate, and help your house climb the ranks! Let’s make next week’s leaderboard even more competitive.
Good luck, and may the best house win!
Our Food and Facilities Committee worked hard to improve the quality of meals for all students. For the meeting with Quadra, we held another Food Survey for students to complete.
We mainly talked about the feedback we received from the students’ survey and those from the parents’ inspection. Also, we discussed about the future plans of Quadra and recent incidents that happened in the canteen. We hope that this help students’ school life in the future.
The postcard event was to get students to send a warm message of encouragement on post-its, sent to Year 11,12 and 13s. Numerous students across all year groups came by the stall to write a quick message to their friends and peers, wishing them good luck on their annuals/tests. The intended goal of this event was primarily to deliver kind messages to seniors, but it also helped form a stronger connection between peers and across-year groups.
Students were given the opportunity to paint small flowers using their fingers. Many participated with enthusiasm, with some even adding their handprints, enjoying a moment of relaxation for their well-being. The primary goal and theme of the event was to allow the students to feel a part of the school community, as their individual paintings came together to form one collective artwork. Additionally, it allowed them to care for their mental well-being through the rare opportunity to collaborate on a creative project.
The most occurring suggestions raised that we have been working for a while has been bathrooms, uniform, and lockers.
Unfortunately, for a number of reasons including lack of space, expense, and placing of lockers for security reasons, bigger lockers cannot be installed at this time. The school is looking into coat hooks for next year, but for now, optimise the canteen bag racks.

Maintenance replied! They are working their way through all the bathrooms, fixing the hand dryers. They are going to try finish as many as possible this holiday. Paper towel will not be installed in all bathrooms as it is not environmentally friendly or cost effective, but we hope fully working hand dryers will be a huge improvement.
:
The Council has recently gone over the new uniform policy draft and sent suggestions to Mr Waterman. We hope that by next year it will be an improvement.
