DearYongduam families,
What an incredible start we’ve had to the year atYongduam Boarding Home! It has been a pleasure welcoming new faces, reconnecting with returning boarders, and watching our community grow stronger each day.This year, we are thrilled to introduce Junior boarding inYongduam, which now includes four fantastic Junior boys – Ryan, Mark, Jaehwa, and Jayden – who bring fresh energy and curiosity to our home.We’ve also welcomed seven new secondary students across various year groups, each settling in well and adding to our rich community.
Our boys have jumped right into an array of weekend activities designed to foster friendships, teamwork, and fun. Highlights so far include the Boarding Splash Day, Halloween celebrations, and team-building games that have quickly bonded our new members with returning boarders. It has been great to see how well they’ve adjusted to and embraced life atYongduam.
As the new Boarding Master, I am excited for the year ahead and as a boarding team, we are committed to helping each of our boys grow in maturity, resilience, and leadership.We’ll be sharing updates regularly on our instagram page, giving you a window into the special moments and milestones we achieve together.

Hello! My name is Victor Castillo Madrigal, and I’m from Mexico. I recently graduated with my master’s degree and am currently in my first year working in Yongduam and in the KS3 Science and Biology Department. I’m also involved in CCAs such as baseball, table tennis, and robotics. I’m passionate about education; it’s incredibly rewarding to witness students growth and improvement every day. I plan to pursue teaching training next year to further enhance my skills.

Hi! My name is Yushi Ashford, this is my 3rd year working in Yongduam. I am currently working in the Senior School Art Department and completing my teaching training this year. I have also been the Badminton Coach for both Middle School and High School KISAC for the past two and half years. It has been an extremely valuable experience for me to see how the Yongduam students over the years transition from young boys into competent leaders across different aspect of their school life.
Hello! My name isAndrew Galvin and I’m from London. I arrived atYongduam at the end of September and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone!After living in Edinburgh for five years studying Music and Sound Design, I am now working in the Music department here at NLCS. My passion lies in composing and creating soundtracks for film in addition to singing and playing the Bassoon and Piano. In my spare time, I love to play football and am a big Everton fan.

Sanghyun(Andy) lee - House Captain
Andy is currently house captain of Yongduam boarding house. He oversees the events and all the activities happening in our boarding home. He is diligent and responsible in his duty, being as a role model student for other students in our boarding home.
Eungku(Kooney) Kim - House Media Captain
Kooney is the Media Captain for Yongduam boarding house. He manages the Instagram posts and stories, sharing memorable moments and important updates. His role helps represent the boarding house’s values to the school and beyond.
Hugo(Hugo) Yoon- House Events Captain
Hugo is the House Events Captain for Yongduam boarding house. He organizes and oversees house events, creating an enjoyable and inclusive atmosphere for all house members. He ensures that activities run smoothly by organizing the venues.
Hoan(Steve) lee - House Academic Captain
Steve is the Academic Captain for Yongduam boarding house. He supports students with academic resources, organizes study groups, and promotes a positive learning environment within the house.

Youngjae(Collin) Seo - House Well-being Captain
Collin serves as the House Well-being Captain along with Phillip, responsible for promoting physical and mental well-being within the Yongduam boarding house. He provides support to house members and shares resources that encourage a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Jihoo(Brenden) Kim - House Environment Captain
Brenden is currently in charge of overseeing house environmental concerns. He seeks to bring a remedy for house waste littering problems. Also, he delicately perseveres to change students’ thinking about separating the collection of waste.

Jisoo is the House Events Captain for Yongduam boarding house. He organizes and oversees house events, creating an enjoyable and inclusive atmosphere for all house members. He ensures that activities run smoothly by organizing the venues.

Jaehyun (Jayden) Kim - House Sports Captain
Jayden is our home’s sports captain. With his extensive knowledge on different kinds of activities and sports, he plans the evening activity for our yongduam boarding home every friday. Working along with events captains, Jayden manages to thrive positive emotions throughout our Yongduam community.
