BELLY DANCING FOR KIDS & TEENS Kids and teens will build strength, coordination and confidence. Enjoy learning folk and ceremonial dances as well as how to dance with veils, swords, and canes. CPR, AED & FIRST AID None of us know when we might be called upon to provide some sort of first aid, which may range from applying a bandage to full-blown CPR and the use of an AED. Come and join us in this interactive 4-hour course taught by certified instructors. Curriculum meets OSHA guidelines for your workplace and is approved by the American Heart Association and the Red Cross. You will have hands-on experience with life-like manikins and training on automated external defibrillators. Learn how to adjust the brightness, contrast, and shadows in your images. Sharpening images, and removing distracting elements, are all made easy in this program. Elements also brings many tools to the photographer such as adding graphics to images, and creating galleries for online viewing in many popular photo-sharing websites, like Flickr and Photobucket. Selling Your Photography Thursday, August 2 Many photographers would love to make money from their photography. This seminar will teach you how to advertise your photography business and gain clients, create gallery websites to show off your work, and use advanced techniques in sales and marketing to sell your images to your clients and target markets. DOG TRAINING – BEGINNING Kathy Kropp, a dog trainer and behaviorist for over 15 years, will teach you and the whole family how to become the pack leader, gently and without force. Class covers the basic exercises necessary to have a well-mannered family companion for life. Kathy will cover how to correct common problem behaviors from the dog’s viewpoint. All dogs must be up to date on their shots per your veterinarian recommendations or present a valid titer. DOG TRAINING:FUN-GILITY – LOW-IMPACT AGILITY FOR DOGS Dogs must already have basic obedience skills. Low-impact, low-stress agility (obstacle) training for your dog. This basic five-week course will introduce you and your dog to the fun sport of agility. Have lots of fun teaching your dog to jump over jumps, run through the tunnel, and teeter on the teeter totter plus many other exciting obstacles. Class will also help you to brush up your dog's obedience skills. Great way to exercise and bond with your dog. GUITAR 1 If you want to play simple rock and pop tunes, learn to accompany yourself with guitar, or jam with a garage band, this is the course for you! You’ll study music reading, chord symbols, finger-picking techniques, and accompaniment patterns. At the end of this course you will be able to play a number of melodies by memory. GUITAR 2 A continuation of Guitar 1. You’ve mastered basic first position note reading and chords but you want more – since your garage band isn’t cutting it with just two chords! HULA DANCING The art of HULA, also known as HAWIIAN DANCING, is the expression of stories through the slow and graceful movements of the hands and body. This class is a beginner class and is open to girls ages 6 - 12 years of age. We ask that parents accompany children who are 6 - 8 years of age. Our goal is to allow dancers to express themselves through movement and song. We look forward to teaching and sharing our culture with others. Since this is our first Hula Class in North County, we are offering an introductory demonstration on July 3 at 2:45 at Centennial Park. We will be limiting class size to 30 students. Please arrive on time and be ready to learn as Hula can be challenging at first. However, no prior dancing experience is necessary. This will be a three-week class that meets twice a week. This is a fun active class to get them comfortable in a gym environment. Wee Tumblers will benefit from learning to take direction as well as help build positive social skills. Beginning Tumbling: 5Y+ This class is a beginning course taught on floor, beams, vault and tumble track. The tumbler will learn basic skills on all equipment. START SMART BASEBALL Start Smart Baseball prepares children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. BMX CAMP Do you like trick riding BMX bikes? Do you want to learn new skills and tricks? Would you like to learn in a positive environment? Our goal is to develop skills, sportsmanship, and park etiquette. BMX riders must bring a BMX bike, and a helmet. Protective elbow and knee pads are highly recommended.
