2022 NMH Just the Beginning

Page 1

The classroom is just the

beginning.

Cocurricular and extracurricular activities

Make NMH your own. Do you dance? Sing? Sink three-pointers? Are you a community-service kind of person? An aspiring photographer? An engineer in the making? If so, you’ve come to the right place, because at NMH, we make sure students have room to pursue their passions. And if you’re still looking for something that makes your heart soar, we’ve got you covered. The entire NMH experience is designed to help you discover and explore your interests, live up to your potential, and keep a healthy, down-to-earth balance.

COCURRICULAR AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Extracurriculars are optional and include lots of clubs and organizations, most of which are created and run by students. Here’s what we offer: Student Well-being

ATHLETICS

Fielding 65 teams in 20 interscholastic sports, Northfield Mount Hermon offers one of the broadest athletics programs in the nation. Our athletics program has something to offer every student, from the specialized athlete to the novice who wants to find their new passion. Last year we had 25 students matriculate and commit to compete in NCAA collegiate athletics, bringing the total to 75. The NMH athletics program helps students become the best version of themselves through education of the “head, heart, and hand.”

WORK PROGRAM At Northfield Mount Hermon, all

students participate equally in the daily work of the school so that they may cultivate

a respect for the dignity of labor and service to the community both within and beyond the school. In the work program, students and adults work together to provide essential daily work to the school community. Participation in this work by all students has been an integral component of the curriculum since the founding of the school. All students must work four hours per week and attain a passing grade each term in order to graduate.
