Yasmeen Lookman alto Yasmeen Lookman received a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance at the University of New Mexico. During her time there, she performed a number of roles with the University Opera Theatre, including Orlofsky in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, and sang in the Opera Southwest Chorus. She has performed both nationally and internationally, most recently as Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte with the International Lyric Academy in Viterbo, Italy. Yasmeen is a staff musician at the United Church of Santa Fe and works in development at The Lensic Performing Arts Center. ●

Jonathan Davidson tenor Jonathan Davidson, tenor, is the Director of Choirs and Piano Instruction at Del Norte High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is currently Associate Conductor for Coro Lux, as well as a Choral Scholar for the United Church of Santa Fe. As a conductor and clinician, Jonathan has worked with the New Mexico Philharmonic, Albuquerque Civic Chorus, V. Sue Cleveland High School Choirs, Rio Rancho High School Choirs, and UNM’s Dolce Suono, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and University Chorus. His degrees include a Master of Music from the University of New Mexico in both vocal performance and in choral conducting as well as a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Eastern Oregon University. ●

Joseph Mitchell bass Joseph Mitchell started his musical career in the 6th grade, playing trumpet in his hometown of Belen, New Mexico. He soon found a passion for singing and received his Bachelor of Music Education degree with a vocal emphasis from UNM in 2017. Joseph is currently the choir and exploratory music teacher at Tres Volcanes Community Collaborative School within APS. He’s also the bass section leader of Coro Lux and is thrilled to be singing again with the New Mexico Philharmonic. ●

Coro Lux Chamber Chorus Coro Lux (“Chorus of Light”) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preparation and performance of great choral music for the enrichment and delight of our audiences and ourselves, and to propagating love of the choral art in the next generation of singers.

Handel’s Messiah

Katy Anderson soprano Katy Anderson, an Albuquerque native, has performed in a number of opera, choral, and concert stage settings. Her repertoire includes the roles of Dorabella in Così fan tutte and Nora in Riders to the Sea, as well as being a featured soloist in Rutter’s Gloria and “Quatre poème hindous” by Maurice Delage. Anderson completed her vocal performance undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University, where she studied with Dr. Jonathan Retzlaff. She went on to study vocal music and choral education at both Belmont University and the University of Georgia. She now works at Roadrunner Food Bank, is mother to three daughters, and is married to an APS guitar teacher. ●

Shelly Ley soprano Shelly Ley was the soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem at New York’s PS 21, sang with NYC’s Amore Opera Company, and performed as a section leader with the New York City Master Chorale in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Last year, she made her debut with the New Mexico Philharmonic as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah and is so pleased to be included once again. Shelly is an elementary music teacher with APS, the soprano section leader of Coro Lux, and currently studies voice with Donna McCrae. ●

Kristen Miller Hutchinson alto Kristen Miller Hutchinson is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s in music education. She is an elementary general music teacher with Albuquerque Public Schools. This is her 21st year of teaching in the public schools. She is also the alto section leader of Coro Lux. Kristen is the proud mom to two young men who keep her very busy! ●

Bradley Ellingboe conductor, bass, & Artistic Director Bradley Ellingboe has led a wide-ranging career in the world of singing, including accomplishments as a choral conductor, soloist, composer, scholar, and teacher. As a choral conductor, he has led festival choruses in 35 states and 14 foreign countries. As a bass-baritone soloist, he has sung under such conductors as Robert Shaw, Helmuth Rilling, and Sir David Willcocks. Ellingboe has more than 150 pieces of music in print, including the Requiem for chorus and orchestra, which will be performed by the New Mexico Philharmonic later this

season. For his scholarly work in making the songs of Edvard Grieg more accessible to the English-speaking public, he was knighted by the King of Norway in 1994. He has been on the music staff of the United Church of Santa Fe since 2015. ●
