New to Email Address: evbartz@gmail.com TOC What city do you currently live in? Houston Hometown: Houston Occupation: Oil & Gas Employer: Noble Corp Marital status: Single Number of children and their ages: 0 Name of college you attended: University of St. Thomas South Central Bike MS events in which you participate: BP MS 150, Houston to Austin Name of your Bike Team: Cervelo Besides being a top fundraiser, in what other ways are you involved with the National MS Society? I rode 150 miles, isn't that enough!!! :) Is this your first year on the Tour of Champions? Yes How did you hear about the Tour of Champions? I read about it on the BP MS 150 website, but I also believe that it was mentioned during our team's introductory meetings that Mindy LeBlanc and others presented. If you were referred by someone, please tell us about that person: No referral If you’re a TOC veteran, what is your favorite memory of a past TOC? First year! What is your connection to MS? I do not have a direct connection to MS; however, my mother has a couple different autoimmune diseases. How did you raise $12,000 or more this year? I asked people for money....over and over and over again. :) What other non-MS rides have you participated in this year? I participated in a number of the "recommended rides" listed on the BP MS 150 website. Are you active in any other organizations? An organization called W.O.R.K. consumes the majority of my time. I also have memberships to a couple of the museums, season tickets to the GEXA Energy Broadway series and sometimes run with the Kenyan Way. Outside of that, I enjoy filling out questionnaires in my free time. LOL Did you use social media in your fundraising efforts this year? I posted a link to my fundraising page on Facebook, but I believe that various different emails, each catered to specific groups of friends, family and work associates (be careful with that last one!) is what did the trick. What are you most looking forward to on this TOC trip? A new experience....and Utah is extremely beautiful. When was the last time you did something for the first time and what was it? Riding the BP MS 150! If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? Super-fast learning, like John Travolta's character in Phenomenon or Charlie in the television show Heroes. Actually, I think they have this and I think it is called speed reading classes...but that sounds like a lot of work and I am lazy, so never mind. What is the best food you’ve ever eaten? I honestly do not know. I did eat Mexican food one time from a not-to-be-named chain restaurant and got food poising. Now there's a memory! So, by process of elimination it is definitely NOT that place. If you had an extra hour of free time a day, how would you use it? I would most likely spend the first 59 minutes attempting to invent a magical time machine that would extend my hour of free time indefinitely. Then, I would spend my last minute feeling dejected over the fact that I just wasted my hour. LOL Who is the first person you would tell when we find a cure for MS and why? Probably the first person that I came across (and knew). I see it going like this, "Hey, so-in-so. How are you this morning? ..I saw in the news this morning that it looks like they found a cure for MS? That's crazy, right!?" I think it would go something like that.
