Year Two - Semester One Pavilion Project 4 Weeks Sheffield

For this project the main focus from the brief was moveable after looking at Archigram’s “Moving City” it quickly became apparent how this could be achieved.

Pavilion Model

The model was designed to slot together. For this I used AutoCAD Which then fed into a laser cutter.

Pavilion BIM With the Pavilion being the first project put into Revit I took this opportunity to create a 3d section. For this I used a Revit Model that was then put through Enscape and finished in photoshop.

Pavilion BIM The Complex structure within the project meant that an exploded axo was perfect. With each individual element being pulled out.

Year Two - Semester Two Community Well-being Centre 12 Weeks Berlin

Berlin Site

With my site it was placed directly on top of where the Berlin Wall connecting the two halfs is key and letting the flows around site still move even with my project located there.

With climbing as a core part for my project and well being important to the building. I will combine the buildings fabric and the purpose of the project creating a double use for it. As the gaps in the fabric get larger it is easier to climb so I can use this to both create privacy and increase challenge.

Tool Storage The upstairs of the block is used to store all the tools that can be used either on the deck or within the workshops. Material Libary This is where material is kept for use on site or in the workshops. With a wide range of materials it also has easy access to the material chutes. Construction Deck Has views off deck down towards Nottingham and surrounding city.

Most of Nottingham has a very tall built height however the sites we were provided were mostly low lying. I saw an opportunity to go up and connect the two sites above.

Quick categorisation of the required rooms showed me how important the link between the workshop, Classroom and Library. Without this link you can not learn the practical skills a construction school needs to teach.

With the small sites and high surrounding buildings I quickly wanted to up and join them. This led to the development of the bridge and the vertical connection between key spaces.
