SUMMER ACTIVITIES IN JACKSON HOLE

On the Water Whitewater Rafting Thrill seekers will enjoy the summer sun and the refreshingly cool waters of the Snake River, as a guide takes you on an exhilarating adventure. Whitewater rafting is offered throughout the day depending on availability beginning at 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. You will float down the Snake River on an 8 mile stretch in the Snake River Canyon where there are class II and III rapids. Duration is 3-3½ hours total from the boathouse in Jackson to the launch and take out area. A complimentary pick-up at the hotel can also be arranged.

Scenic Float Scenery seekers and photographers will enjoy a leisurely float through the Teton Wilderness. This is a unique opportunity to view wildlife in their natural habitat on the banks of the Snake River. Departure times vary within the season with the earliest departure time at 6 am and the latest at

5:30 pm. Trip times are about three hours

to and from the meeting area.

Lake Kayak Tour Paddle your kayak across calm glassy lakes. Learn to paddle on beautiful Slide Lake in Grand Teton National Forest. With views of the massive landslide, surrounding forest, wildlife, the red rock of the Gros Ventre range and the peaks of the Grand Tetons, Slide Lake is the perfect venue for learning to paddle. This is a low impact activity suitable for all levels. Also available is an unforgettable full day lake tour which will take you to the pristine high elevation lakes of Yellowstone which include a water approach to some of Yellowstone’s famous geysers.

River Kayaking Guided kayaking on the Snake River is available for all ability levels. Either get out into the whitewater even if you have never done it before and try the less intensive inflatable ducky or sit-on-top kayak with a guide, or spend the day learning an exciting new sport in a closed deck kayak, and take advantage of instruction in the boathouse pool before heading out on the river.


Stand up Paddling Learn the world’s fastest growing watersport! An incredibly fun way to experience paddling flat or moving water and if you are looking for fitness there is nothing better. Carve eddy turns, surf river waves, walk on water Stand up Paddling style.

Fishing Home to some of the world’s best trout fishing, the lakes and streams below the Teton Range feature Rainbow, Brown and Lake trout, and one of the few remaining populations of wild Snake River Cutthroat trout. We have half day and full day fly fishing trips with a guide (2 person capacity per boat). This is truly a spectacular way to see the landscape and mountains. All fishing equipment is provided and your guide will come to the hotel to pick you up. This is a great opportunity to learn how to fly fish – your guide will even tie your flies! For the avid fisherman, there is no better way to access the area’s best fishing holes than with an experienced fishing expert!


Out in the wilderness Park Tours and Wildlife Safaris Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park are best explored with an experienced guide. Your guide will maximize your time in the expansive Yellowstone wilderness by providing information on park history, flora, fauna, and present day geothermal activities, as well as directing you to park highlights and points of interest. The most typical full day tour of Yellowstone National Park includes the lower loop, featuring the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone with its breathtaking views of waterfalls, as well as Old Faithful and the geyser basins, the beautiful thermal pools, and the mud pots. Wildlife tours are a great way to focus on animal sightings with your biologist guide as you tour the park. Full day tours of Grand Teton National Park are available to see the park in its entirety. Also offered are four hour sunrise and sunset tours of the lower end of Grand Teton National Park, the National Elk Refuge, and the surrounding areas. Trips depart early or late in the day for afternoon trips to optimize the wildlife high activity period for the best possible viewing. These jam packed, but shorter 4 hour tours (door to door) are a great way to fit in an animal safari in a shorter period of time. Possible animal sightings include moose, grizzlies and black bears, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, wolves, bald eagles, beavers, osprey, trumpeter swans, mule deer, and elk to name a few! Group pricing and chartered vehicles with step-on guides are available.


Bike Tours Embark on a bike through the hills and valleys of Jackson Hole. A local guide will take you on stunning treks throughout Grand Teton National Park and the Bridger Teton National Forest. Your guide will share the history of the area and offer instruction in mountain bike techniques and trail etiquette. There are trips to suit every level of biker from family friendly pathway tours to beginner, moderate, and even more aggressive mountain bike tours. On each tour you will be provided with a mountain bike, helmet, and a water bottle. A box lunch will be provided on a full day.

Hiking Tours Trek into the wilderness for some spectacular Teton views. There are half day and full day trips. Bottled water, snacks, transportation, and the use of fanny packs and binoculars are included. The Explorer hike is a moderate to easy hike, 4 hours long, which is perfect for families. The Trekker excursion is a bit longer at 6 hours, and is available to all abilities, and the Mountaineer, an 8 hour trip intended for the more athletic hiker, will get you farther into the backcountry and will afford incredible views, remote glacial lakes, and you will perhaps even summit a peak.

Guided ATV Tours Bridger-Teton National Forest is known for its abundant wildlife and immense wild lands. Much of the ATV trails wind back into parts of 3.4 million acres of untouched public land. Choose from a half day or a full day. Each trip consists of a small group of riders guided by an experienced expert on the area. Helmets and Deli Style lunches are provided with your excursion. Razor (street legal) rentals are also available, and can include pick up from the Lobby.


Razor Rentals Your razor will be dropped off right in front of Teton Mountain Lodge and Spa. Take off from the hotel into Grand Teton National Park and take advantage of the rougher River Road that parallels the Snake River, right in front of the Tetons. The River Road travels northward, for about five miles, offering a good chance of spotting bison and elk, on unpaved road. Or, for a more rugged experience travel through the National Park en route to the National Forest where several offroad trails await. Fit your whole family of four in one razor. You will be met by a representative and be provided with instructions on usage of the razor, maps, and guidance. For those looking for less bumps, travel with a guide and enjoy a tour of Grand Teton National Park in an open-air vehicle – a perfect way to enjoy the incredible scenery.

Golf and Tennis A Jackson Hole in One! In the shadow of the Grand Teton Range, Robert Trent Jones and Arnold Palmer have created two of most beautiful and challenging courses in the Rockies. Our semi-private courses offer uncongested play, tennis courts and instruction, and mouthwatering restaurants There are two tennis clubs in the Teton Valley offering hard and clay courts, both indoor and outdoor. Each facility offers a full service pro shop featuring the latest merchandise, demo racquets, racquet stringing, gear, shoes and accessories is at your fingertips. A year round and a seasonal staff are available to assist you with improving your game.


Horsing Around Horseback Riding We offer one and two hour trail rides right here in Teton Village. Conveniently located at the base, your Teton Village ride will meander toward Grand Teton National Park through Aspen groves with Grand Teton views. Longer rides are a bit farther afield. Half day and full day rides are available in a variety of backcountry destinations, all with pristine mountain views.

Chuckwagon Dinners Climb into the covered wagon and travel back into the Old West. At an outdoor dinner site you will be treated to good ‘ole cowboy jokes, songs, and poetry. Dinner is a Dutch oven barbecue with enough fixings to fill you up. This is a fun activity, dinner, and show in one - perfect for families.

Jackson Hole Rodeo Let’s Go, Let’s Show, Let’s Rodeo! Cheer on cowboys and cowgirls competing in bull riding, saddle buck riding, barrel racing, cow roping, and team roping events. The rodeo is every Wednesday and Saturday night at 8 pm.


Jackson Hole Shooting Experience Sixteen experienced coaches, and the largest team of shooting instructors in the Rocky Mountain region, enthusiastically share their passion for shooting. Regardless of your experience or skill level, they will “meet you where you are” and provide a Shooting Experience you’ll not soon forget! The Multi Gun Experience focuses on the fundamentals of shooting in a safe, educational and FUN style, in a beautiful location! You’ll learn to shoot or hone in on your accuracy, engage in speed competitions with our precise shot timer and get comfortable with your firearms and what you can do with them. A clay pigeon course or archery and tomahawk throwing are fun for the whole family.

Scenic Flight over the Tetons Fly over the beautiful Snake River before crossing over the Tetons to soar along the tallest peaks in the range. Escape into glittering alpine lakes, distant waterfalls and wild canyons. Spectacular all year long & great for families!


Hot Air Balloon Experience some of the best ballooning in North America along the Teton Range with pick-up from the Lobby. The flights depart just before sunrise once a day.

Astronomy Sessions Enjoy an evening under the stars with a professional Astronomer and gaze at nebulas and star systems with the highest grade telescope outside an observatory. Go on a private excursion with your Astronomer into Grand Teton National Park or enjoy a session right here from Teton Mountain Lodge’s rooftop terrace.
