Pistol Shooting �� $150PP++ If you have ever thought about becoming a better marksman this is the class for you. Learn valuable techniques from our veteran instructors that will have you hitting the bullseye in no time. From beginner to the experienced shooter, everyone will enjoy the steel target shooting gallery. Shoot a variety of today’s most popular pistols from Glock, Springfield, and Colt. Pistol Caliber Carbine ��$150PP++ One of the hottest kinds of guns on the market right now. They are fun, easy to shoot, and versatile. The first noticeable difference when shooting a Pistol-caliber carbine verses a Rifle, is there is very little felt recoil. This is the perfect class for new shooters that are interested in learning rifle shooting and experienced shooters that would like to experience this exciting sport on our shooting gallery style range. Juanita Arch Hike �� $350PP++ A favorite among Gateway Canyons staff, this is a multi-sport trip beginning with a canoe trip across the Dolores River, providing access through Maverick Canyon to Juanita Arch, a beautiful natural bridge. This is a rugged canyon country, with an out and a back trip of about 5 miles. Intermediate to difficult hike, Minimum 2 guests, min age 12 yrs old, (lunch not included). *This activity is dependent on the cfs to safely cross the river. Weather permitted. Mid-summer months is dependent on how hot it is.

Wildcat Hike �� $150PP+ If you are wanting to see amazing views in the Unaweep Canyon and get your heart pumping, this moderate to strenuous hike is for you! Enjoy a scenic drive north on Hwy 141 to the trail head, where you’ll start your ascent to the top of the Uncompahgre Plateau. Moderate to strenuous hike, minimum 2 guests and max of 5 guests per guide, min age 12 yrs old, approx. 4 hrs.

A Day in the Life of a Paleontologist................................................................. $250PP++ Six to seven hours. The day will start with a stop of local dinosaur track sites before touring the MygottMoore Quarry on the Colorado-Utah state line and to the Fruita Paleontological Area to see some of the most noteworthy paleontological sites in western Colorado and portions of skeletons still left in the rocks. Roc Creek Rock Art Hike �� $75PP People have been using and living in the canyons around Gateway for hundreds of thousands of years and have left clues behind to help us understand what everyday life was like. Roc Creek contains some of the most dazzling and intriguing rock art in the region. The oldest images were carving into the sandstone one thousand years ago and evidence for a possible village site can be found in the area. This tour involves a two-mile round trip moderate hike with outstanding views of the Dolores River Canyon and Roc Creek as well as information on the vast and rich human history of the area. Three-hour tour, $75 per person. Minimum of 2 guests.

Learn about Dinosaurs and Geology...................................................................$55PP++ (Dinosaur Track & Geology Tour) Adventure through one of the last truly remote, rugged, and isolated areas in western Colorado, Sinbad Valley where we will learn about who has all lived there and their stories. After the drive into Sinbad we will visit the 200-million-year-old dinosaur and proto-mammal. Guided hike, approximately 1.5 hours, Minimum of 2 guests.

Stargazing �� $350++ Few places in the United States offer as dazzling of a night sky view as Gateway, Colorado. Far away from the air and light pollution of large cities, Gateway offers a view of the skies that can only be found in the canyon country of western Colorado. Not only are thousands upon thousands of stars visible, but it is a rare occasion to not see the Milky Way. In partnership with the Black Canyon Astronomical Society, the Resort will often times bring in astronomers and professional-level telescopes. Planets and their moons, the rings of Saturn, distant galaxies, and clusters of stars not visible with the naked eye have all been spotted. Private one-hour program.
