ICE BREAKERS THE PIPE & P OND / 2 5 PER PERSON Individuals gain understanding of their own organization from research & development to sales & accounting perspectives. This is a great event for all groups but especially useful for sales teams. MIND B O GGLERS / 2 5 PER PERSON This event offers multiple mind stretching exercises for critical thinking that help team members learn to analyze, problem solve, and broaden their perspectives. THE D OMIN O EFFECT / 2 5 PER PERSON This is a fun exercise that challenges the way teams work together and communicate. It promotes friendly competition with a favorite past time. CHILD ’ S PL AY / 2 5 PER PERSON Team members test their mechanical skills by building multiple children’s toys and puzzles with limited guidance, while bonding through competition to win first place. BAYSIDE BIN GO / 20 PER PERSON Using multiple bingo sheets, guests get to mingle and win prizes. This event can be customized per organization or individual requests. MAP QUEST / 3 0 PER PERSON Group must develop strategic action plans and work within a time limit they set.
TEAM BUILDING EVENTS SAN D IEGO SAND SURVIVOR / 12 5 PER PERSON The San Diego Sand Survivor competition is a great way to experience team building at its best while enjoying the beautiful natural landscape of San Diego and Mission Bay. The event is fully facilitated with survivor maps, company currency, team colors, and opening and closing ceremonies. All groups have the opportunity to choose between the options below or work with our team to build a custom event that specifically meets your group’s needs. Cactus Hunt Teams work together to fill up a 6 foot tall hollow cactus with water from the bay. There are holes in the cactus so as the water rises, more team members will have to stay back to plug the holes. The object of the event is to float the ball at the bottom of the cactus, all the way to the top. Meteorite Mission Teams work together to transport a radioactive meteorite through a custom-made obstacle course. Communication, creativity and group synergy are a must. Driver’s Edge Team members race remote-controlled vehicles through a comprehensive and challenging race course. The twist is, the driver is blindfolded, and team member communication and guidance are strictly limited. This game is built on trust and communication.
Team Trex Teams race each other on giant, pliable skis with ropes attached to them. Group communication and team synergy will crown the winner of this event. Around the World Team members use a 20 foot parachute map of the world to answer company and geographic related trivia questions. Each continent and major ocean has a special net sewn into the parachute. Team members submit their answers by guiding their team’s world traveler into the net of the appropriate continent or ocean. Bombs Away This event involves a three-person sling shot, colored ammunition, and targets 40 yards down the beach. Teams work together, keeping their colored ammunition in play, and trying to land the most assaults on the targets.
THE AMA ZIN G R ACE / 10 0 PER PERSON This event takes treasure hunting and team work to a whole new level. It is derived from the Scandinavian activity of Orienteering, where participants find flags in the woods with a map and compass. Teams work together in search of puzzle pieces and parts for their tribal trophy. Team members are led by clues around our beach, bay and garden locations in search of puzzle pieces and trophy parts. The immediate objective of the event is to retrieve all the puzzle pieces and parts to their trophy. Once the puzzle pieces are obtained, the group must come together to decipher the puzzle and follow the instructions to obtain the final elements to their trophy. Once the teams get all the trophy elements (tools, tribal beads, paint, Tiki mask, wooden body parts), they will have to construct and paint their trophy (Tribal Tiki Man) according to the clues that the puzzle passages have stated. The first group to complete the task is a shoe-in to win but not necessarily the victor, as groups will be judged on their overall Tiki Man presentation and tribal war/fertility dance. AN CHORMAN SAN D IEGO / 10 0 PER PERSON Have you ever dreamed of being a “big deal� newscast team? In this event, teams work through hands-on brainstorming and media creation challenges in order to make their very own news cast. Each team is responsible for creating content, designing a story board, developing a time table, and presenting a five minute news broadcast. Teams work through challenges in an effort to produce the most entertaining and content rich broadcast, while adhering to their predetermined time structure. This event is full of hilarious twists and turns that will sure to be a huge hit during showtime. Stay classy San Diego!
SAND & SAILS TOURNAMENT / 110 PER PERSON Spend the day racing around the bay and diving in the sand in this bayside team building classic. Teams learn sailing basics before piloting their own sail boat and competing in a full-scale Mission Bay Regatta. On the beach, the competition gets heated in the actionpacked Monster Volleyball tournament. Teams are recognized and awarded for their sand and sail prowess during our closing ceremony. The winning team takes home the coveted Sand and Sails Trophy. BIKES ON THE BAY / 10 0 PER PERSON Beginning with an opening ceremony, briefing, and orientation, teams participate in a series of custom problem-solving activities. Rewards are given in the form of parts of a brand new bicycle, along with tools for putting it together for our “customers.� The big surprise at the end of the day is a presentation of the new bikes being donated to local underprivileged children! TIKI TEST / 10 0 PER PERSON Teams are split up and asked to designate a Tiki Chief and a tribe name. Each team creates their own ceremonial mask from native materials. Tribes are challenged to explain their Tiki Tribe core strength and create a chant or dance for the presentation of their mask. Finally, each team performs in front of their peers.
TALENT SHOW / 110 PER PERSON Your organization presents a talent show and the participants get time to prepare before the big performance. See just how much they get into this, with costumes, rehearsals and creativity. It is sure to be a hit! MENU MAGIC / 9 0 PER PERSON In the restaurant world, the menu is key. It helps tell a story and bring to life the essence of the restaurant “brand” experience. Teams work to create a brand ideal through an intriguing menu. HUMAN FO O SBALL / 10 0 PER PERSON If you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to stay active, Human Foosball is a must. Two teams of up to ten people can fit in our giant foosball game at a time. Team members must kick the ball from player to player while holding on to padded handle bars. They work together to move the handles from side to side. Play tournament style to give everyone a chance to get in on the fun.
PIRATE’S LIFE FOR ME – ARRR! / 100 PER PERSON Our Pirate’s Life boat building is the perfect way to sail your group towards becoming a more compatible team! Your captain of ceremonies (that’s us) energizes your group with an exciting intro, including pirate chants, a map of the seven seas, and an explanation of the day’s challenges. The entire event takes 2 to 2.5 hours. The first stage of your event is the blueprint for the boat and pirate flag (15-20 min.). Teams survey their stock of shipwrecked material (inner tubes, fittings, rope, duct tape, flooring, paddles etc.) and draw out the best way to make a seaworthy vessel Teams are also provided with pirate artifacts to create their ship’s flag and to get into character. Additional materials such as paddles, inner tubes and fittings can be bartered from the pirate store by completing extra pirate challenges. The next stage in the Pirate’s Life is the construction and decoration of their famed pirate ship. Teams are also responsible for creating a one minute long “Swash Buckling Chant to perform when they present their boat and name. The third stage is where it gets really fun. All boats get in the water and follow their treasure map, paddling their way to booty! This is where we find out who built the solid seafaring vessels and who built the not so worthy ones (land lubbers). Teams return with haste to the beach where they finish their final task and claim victory. An awards ceremony follows, based on a points system, including fastest craft, most creative boat, best team work, and best Swash Buckling Chant.
CULINARY CHALLENGES CHILI CO OK OFF / 10 0 PER PERSON This dynamic culinary challenge combines research and development, marketing, and sales principles into one delicious team building event. All teams start out with the basic ingredients to succeed, including food ingredients, a marketing kit and media props. Teams not only create a unique flavor in their personal cooking stations, but also design, market and sell their chili creation. All teams are judged on flavor, shelf appeal of label design, and sales pitch. The sales pitch comes in the form of a one minute filmed commercial. All commercials are edited by our inhouse AV company and shown before the closing awards ceremony. TE AM CUISINE / 12 5 PER PERSON This culinary experience promotes team synergy, improves results, and delivers quality production and service. Teams watch as our Executive Chef preps, plates, and garnishes his signature tuna tartar dish for a single serving. Groups are challenged to recreate the recipe for ten different settings, mimicking the the Chef’s knife technique, recipe, and plate presentation. There are many tasty twists and turns to this event, including a second pastry making challenge. Teams that cook together stay together and this is an enjoyable way to teach your group new concepts, build company morale and bond through food preparation. WINE TASTIN G / 95 PER PERSON Sample a hand-selected collection of exquisite local and international wines from our expansive wine cellar, awarded the Wine Spectator ‘Best of Award of Excellence’. Our Executive Chef will walk you through a sensory journey that will stimulate your palette. Experiment with food pairings such as dried fruits, nuts, crystallized ginger, caramel bars, and cheeses and peppers. The wine’s flavor profile literally changes with each bite.
GROUP DOWNTIME ACTIVITIES D IVE-IN MOVIE NIGHT / 15 0 0 This is a great poolside event that can start as soon as the sun goes down. The event includes a movie of your choice on a movie theatre-sized big screen, unlimited popcorn, poolside cocktail service, pool rafts, and use of the pool cabanas. S’ MORES NIGHT / 16 PER PERSON S’mores night happens at our beach fire pits. Everything is provided including wood, marshmallows, Hershey’s chocolate, graham crackers and 3 ft. S’mores Stix. The cost for the event is $16 per person with an additional fire pit rental fee of $250 per pit. Additional items can be added such as apple cider, hot chocolate, and Reese’s peanut butter cups. MONSTER VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT / 25 PER PERSON Monster volleyball is a traditional game of volleyball with a non-traditional ball. The ball is huge and takes at least 2 people to serve, set and spike over the net. This event includes court rental and referee. (20 person minimum)
GAMES IN THE GARDEN / 5 0 0 We have a huge stock of fun, interactive games for your group to play at our waterfront Garden by the Bay location. Games include volleyball, croquet, horse shoes, (2) corn holes, (2) ladder balls, poles (glow in the dark Frisbee game), bocce ball, giant Jenga, giant connect 4, giant checkers, and table tennis. The full set up and location costs $500 flat rate for 2 hours. A satellite bar and sound system can be set up for an additional charge.

The Resort can also help staff by providing a registration table or registration center for optimal efficiency. ON-PROPERT Y L AND & SE A RENTALS The waters of Mission Bay can be explored in many ways, from slow and relaxed to a high thrilling adventure. With Action Sports Rentals on-property, the choice is all yours. Pilot your own motorboat or jet ski, get some exercise on a stand-up paddle board, kayak or paddleboat, sit back and relax in a Fun Cat (our electrically powered chaise lounges), or choose a leisurely cruise on one of our catamarans or sailboats. For those who prefer to stay on dry land, bikes, surreys, and Segways are great ways to tour the boardwalk along the bay’s shore.
