by Brenda Aughenbaugh together. "Riding Run Saddlery" was Kathy's tack business. She and her mobile tack and equestrian clothing unit traveled to many shows in the Region II Area. Her Art degree from Adrian College (MI) benefitted many dressage riders. Kathy was skillful at coordinating breeches, shirts, vests and gloves so that the final look was more than "riding clothes," it was an "elegant ensemble." The horses were beautifully appointed as well with bridle, saddle pads, coolers, and horse blankets.

For many years, Kathy was a NODA member and competed at Recognized Dressage Shows. She was born in Copley, Ohio where her Grandfather raised and raced Standardbred horses. She started riding when she was six years old and her riding background ranged Kathy on Szuler from a retired circus pony, to an Ohio State Championship in Western Parade, to Arabian classes at COSCA shows Kathy loved all animals, the outdoors and and then to dressage competitions with Tareq traveling. Her limitless compassion, extraordinary (Arabian), Szuler (Trakehner) and Novarro courage, and quiet strength were an inspiration to all (Trakehner). who knew her, especially to her husband, Tim. Member News Lifetime Achievement Award Nominations Open NODA’s Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize and honor individuals who have devoted countless hours of service to NODA in the pursuit of excellence both to NODA and to our sport of Dressage. This is to recognize those individuals both in our spotlight and the ones in the trenches quietly just doing the work. It would be the person you think of when you want something done, or someone who would remember how it has been done in the past, or someone who served years doing our committee work. It could even be those individuals who might not be active anymore, but helped to create the NODA we enjoy today. When we discuss the beginnings of NODA, their names will often be mentioned. These are important people and should be remembered and honored.
