CURE THE POWER LESS Post-structuralist, Michel Foucault (1991) said “‘power is everywhere’, diffused and embodied in discourse, knowledge and ‘regimes of truth’”. Power can be seen as institutionalised, socialised and maintaining certain

codes in our everyday. However, power such as this ironically renders the citizen powerless, and as the compromised subject of the powerrelationship. In the exhibition, ‘Cure the Powerless’, NO END invites artists to consider the connection between citizens and power (politics and power, social power, etc.). Using photography, artists are invited to engage with notions of power as a departure point, to critique and subvert power, to interrogate how power is formed, and in a single instance, possibly ‘cure the powerless’. Also, to consider in this exploration is the power relationship between the photographer and the subject.
