With their second album of original material, Enemy Of The World, Four Year Strong have returned with songs that are about as infectious as the plague. While the quintet’s sound is largely unchanged, there is a new vitality to the pop-punk energy with the uplifting, singalong choruses and the metalcore flourishes that have come to be identified with the FYS sound. ‘It Really Must Suck To Be Four Year Strong Right Now’ is the perfect album opener, while ‘Nineteen With Neck Tatz’ is gang vocals the whole way through. There is nothing new or innovative here, but there doesn’t have to be as the guys have stumbled across a style that will have the kids bouncing all over the mosh pit for the hardcore breakdowns and the half-time clean choruses.
