Study Course Instructions This study course is designed to be done both in a course room, mosque, study-group or self-paced at home. Certain parts of this course (Key Word Study) will be done with a partner. Other parts will be done independently (by yourself). When its time to partner, you and your partner (twin) are to follow the steps provided in this guide. The study course is laid out in the order you do them. It is important not to skip any steps of the guide. THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE TO BE FOLLOWED IN OUR CLASSES. Purpose of this Study Course Guide: The purpose of this study course guide is to guide you through this course of study. Time to Complete: Although the hour and a half that we have for study this evening will hopefully allow you to progress through most of this study, however it is strongly recommend that you continue to work on this study course at home at your own pace. Important Note: During the study course session, if you have any questions raise your hand for assistance. Each believer (student) should have a copy of this handout and its instructions to take home and continue studying on their own. All steps may not be completed in the class sessions in its entirety.

Study Course Steps Step 1: Key Word Clearing Key words are important words related to key concepts found in the reading. Having a good understanding of the meanings of these words will help each student better understand the important concepts and ideas of the study, as well as eliminate misunderstandings that come with misunderstood words. Use the key word list and definitions found in this packet to do the drill (exercise) a and b.

1.) Select a partner (closest to you) and study the Key Words together, through reviewing the questions and answers to master. (If done in course room or mosque/study group the time allotted is 30-45 minutes) 2.) First time through: The student has the questions and answers in front of him or her. The partner asks the student the question, and the student answers it. He/She can look at the answer if needed. The answer does not have to be word-for-word or memorized; just the concept must be correct. 3.) Second time through: Once finished with the drill the first time, you start again from the beginning, this time without the answers in front of you. Your partner asks the question and you answers. If the answer is incorrect, your partner shows you the answer. Look at the answer again and repeat until you have grasped the concept, then continue to the next one.

Step 2: Independent Reading After completing step one, you may begin to read the selected reading materials. Step 3: Check Your Understanding Questions: Time Frame: 30 min Review the lists of questions. Each question Time Frame: min is formulated to check your30 understanding of the key concepts and ideas found in the reading. Answer each question on a sheet of paper and be prepared to discuss your answers at the conclusion of this session. Sufficient time may not be given during class session to answer all of the questions. If you do not finish in class, please continue this step at home.

What does it mean to separate? Separate means to keep apart or divide, as by an intervening barrier or space; to put, bring, or force apart; to remove or sever from association, service, etc., especially legally or formally. It also means to leave another person's company; discharge or dismiss (someone) from service or employment. What does produce mean? Produce means to bring into existence by intellectual or creative ability; give rise to; cause. It is to make or manufacture; to provide, furnish, or supply. What is meant by cut-rate? Cut-rate means a price, fare, or rate below the standard charge; to offer goods and reduced prices.

KEY WORD CLEARING

(This occurs when large corporation buy large quantities of products for less and sell them at much cheaper prices than a small business who cannot afford to sell at a such a low price. This causes potential customers to seek out the “megastores� rather than supporting the local, small business whose prices may be slightly higher. This also causes small businesses to collapse.)

What is the meaning of qualifications? Qualifications are qualities or accomplishments that makes someone suitable for a particular job or activity; conditions that must be fulfilled before a right can be acquired; an official requirement. What does it mean to train? To train means to develop or form the habits, thoughts, or behavior of (a child or other person) by discipline and instruction. What is persecution? Persecution is hostile and ill treatment, especially because of race, political or religious beliefs. What is protection? Protection is the act of protecting or the state of being protected; reservation from injury or harm. Protect means to keep from harm or injury; to preserve. What does it mean to exploit? To exploit means to use (a situation or person) in an unfair or selfish way; benefit unfairly from the work of (someone), typically by overworking or underpaying them. What is integration? Integration is the intermixing of people or groups previously segregated. It is the free association of people from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. (See point number 9 of What the Muslims Believe for the NOI’s position on integration.)

What is justice? Justice is the quality of being just; righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness; the administering of deserved punishment or reward; the maintenance or administration of what is just by law, as by judicial or other proceedings. Justice is fair-dealing. What is a flag? A flag is a piece of cloth, varying in size, shape, color, and design, usually attached at one edge to a staff or cord, and used as the symbol of a nation, state, or organization, as a means of signaling, etc.; ensign; standard; banner; pennant. What does it mean to incite? To incite means to stir, encourage, or urge on; to stimulate or prompt to action; encourage or stir up (violent or unlawful behavior). What is insurrection? Insurrection is a violent uprising against an authority or government; an act or instance of rising in revolt, rebellion, or resistance against civil authority or an established government. 3


STEP 3: Check Your Understanding The following questions are for discussion at the conclusion of the study session. The remaining questions can be completed at your own pace as you continue your study at home. You can use your book if you need help answering the questions. Write your answers on a sheet of paper.

Questions For Discussion: 1. What qualifications are needed in order to be accepted by any intelligent or refined civilization? 2. Why do you think the Honorable Elijah Muhammad stated that it is far more important to teach separation of the blacks and the whites than prayer? 3. Why can’t the slave master accept one of his former slaves as his equal? 4. What has been and continues to be the aim of the enemy against the Messenger of Allah? How does Allah respond to this plan? 5. How could raising such a question (Which one will survive…) be used in an unrighteous way by the enemy? 6. What is it that really angers America? 7. From the reading, what does the Honorable Elijah Muhammad specifically pledge he will do for us? 8. What activity will show that we love our children and ourselves?

What is the final war called? What happens? 12. Which flag (Islam or American) will survive the war of Armageddon? Explain why?
