2020 might just be the most exciting year yet for our studio. We’re starting the year with lots of new projects, including a contemporary lake house in Switzerland and a stunning classical villa in Cannes, South of France. We’re also set to deliver a number of other overseas and UK based projects that we’ve been working on over the last couple of years. In addition to our interiors, there is something very exciting in the pipeline that we’ve been working on behind the scenes for 18 months. I can’t say too much about the project yet but all will be revealed later in the year!

We are working on some fantastic projects this year, but there is one we are particularly excited to be involved with, something a little different for us, a boutique, luxury mental health centre. Set over five floors, the centre is taking up residence in an iconic building in Kensington & Chelsea, providing the full spectrum of psychotherapy, psychiatry, counselling and coaching services. This is very much a residential-led commercial project, so is a great fit for us. We would love to take Covet to the countryside in 2020. We’re always antique sourcing in the Cotswolds, so we’d love to take on a country retreat. We also want to spend this year building relationships with more British artisans.”

I always feel motivated at the start of a New Year (and decade) with exciting new projects, plans to visit art galleries, exhibitions and trade shows to fuel my creativity (and hopefully source new sustainable and ethical products). I am keen to grow my professional network by attending lots of creative workshops and events and would also love to improve my own personal development by learning something new (block printing, weaving, upholstery, or something more technical perhaps…). I’m hoping to collaborate with some of my favourite suppliers to design a small range of furniture and decorative hardware and I will be supporting a handful of special charities.

Our agenda for 2020 is to put the WHY into our work this year. Why we do this; why it’s important and why our clients should invest in us - with their time as well as part of their budget. We celebrate 15 years of design journeying this year, so we are looking back as well as forward to reflect on the fundamental questions of living and how we have answered them.
