STATEMENT OF NEED
I want to use the complex of buildings for two different purposes: my own use and a bussiness on rental accomodation. The surrounding spaces and landscape will provide different types of ammenities, encouraging social interactions.

SITE LOCATION Located in a rural setting and mainly isolated. The nearest urban centres are both 1.8 km away, Alvre to the North-East and Santa Comba to the South-West. Access to the property is via a rural gravel road off the regional M610. Public transport is provided by train, via the Caide-Marco regional train. Buses run from Porto.

BUILT ENVIRONMENT
The complex is composed of various constructions of mixed use that can be divided in residential and agricultural use. The main house (1) spreads in two levels, with external staircases in the north and south elevations and. Attached to the main house, an ancillary space, formerly used as kitchen, occupies only the ground level. It has independant access but i A secondary residential building (3) contains two self-contained units, at ground and first floor respectively. The ground unit has attached an extensive, semi-buried porch. The remaining constructions are all destined to agricultura use. We find a stable, winery, grannary, storage, garage, etc.

A floor where I can roll. sitting facing a window My first house in Porto was like that. Separate bedrooms. The rest can be a single space with different uses. For the future that means I will have the new house for myself in Valdeira, the tourists can have the old part.”
