Dear Friends There are so many exciting events this Summer at The Farm that we’ve gone to a 52 page brochure... eeek… but read on… it’s def worth it! Whether you’re in the mood to meet a music industry legend, say, Alan McGee of Creations Records? Or a female scientist from the sexist 80s - in puppet form, natch (check out Flux) or want to find out if comedy can unite the world (spoiler alert, it can, see Prophet-Sharing) Norden Farm can make this happen for you this Summer. Take a moment for yourself and be transported to the streets of Seville, with Flamenco from CalleJondo. Battle against social media trolling with Bilal Zafar and his love-bots or indulge your ears with Americana-Eastern-European-mash-ups from North Carolina band, The Resonant Rogues. Experiment with Theatre. Contemporary re-imaginings on classic texts include The Government Inspector and an all-female version of The Tempest from The HandleBards who tour the country on bicycles, how else? Bliss out in live music. This season celebrates the power of the female voice. Stellar vocalists to make your soul soar include Kyshona Armstrong from Nashville, blues-fuelled Jo Harman and vintage swing from The Rosina Hepburn Quintet - AKA Miss Rosie and the Moonshyne Runners. Meanwhile, switch up your downtime and get involved in the classes programme. Brand new for the Summer, include Salsa on a Tuesday night, or how about Poetry on a Sunday afternoon? Hit The Beach at The Farm, all summer-long. Goa-themed, complete with hammocks it’s also the venue for the Big Berkshire Beach Gig. Best seat in the house for this? Definitely the boat! Due to the outrageous fun we had at our very first Kite Festival last year, we’re going to do it again! Make your own kite at one of the workshops at The Farm or in Town, then fly it on Punt Hill on Sun 1 Sept - the last hoorah before the ‘back to school’. Or just kick back on hay bales under the trees with something yummy from the food trucks and check out the live music stage, with fluttering kites as your backdrop. Roll on summer….

Johanne Narayn - Hummingbirds and Flowers Carnival

Of Mice and Men By 124 Studios Wed 1 May - Sun 26 May

124 Studios returns to Norden Farm with a diverse collection of artworks from an established group of artists. Drawings, paintings and prints depicting humans and animals. Artists include Josie Clouting, Michael Restrick and Lu Willis. With guest artist Harriet Brittaine.

Tues 25 Jun - Sun 14 Jul Since seeing the jewel-like qualities of the hummingbird on her first visit to Trinidad, Johanne has returned to this exotic subject in her new body of work. Johanne’s intention is to create feel-good art: colourful, lyrical paintings. Her inspiration is her family background, Trinidadian/Irish, born in the UK, each place conjuring up very special images.

Goan Chill Out Wed 24 Jul - Sun 25 Aug

Tues 28 May - Sun 23 Jun

Relax and kick back in our peaceful Goan chill out space. Lie back and enjoy projections in the fisherman’s hut or go fish in shiny waters and add your creations to the walls. Gentle rhythmic sounds in this colour filled space complete the total relaxation experience.

Sarah’s landscape paintings meander across gently undulating surfaces such as fired white earthenware ceramic. They are often inspired by the wild North Pennines where she lives, as well as by her years in China. They aim to capture something of the atmosphere and power of the fleeting moment.

This gallery installation includes work made with local schools through Norden Farm’s Farm Out programme and with young people through our Young Creatives programme supported by the Spoore Merry and Rixman Foundation. Suitable for everyone, including children with SEND.
