It is no longer enough to deliver good quality products at good prices. As a company we have responsibility to protect the environment as well as human beings. We gladly take additional measures to ensure a positive impact on people and our planet. We recognize that behavioral change and rethinking can open up opportunities that can make a difference. Sustainability is an important part of our strategy. When we think about sustainability, we do not only think about the product but about every aspect of the value chain. Whether it is the local farmer or the product economy for Textile Service. In 2011 we joined the UN Global Compact and became a member of AMFORI (BSCI). The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN have been integrated into our strategic plan for the coming years. We have taken the next step in the obligation to contribute in fulfilling the World Goals. In particular, through our work with AMFORI, we are working towards Goal 4 â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Education with quality, Goal 8 - Decent jobs and economic growth and Goal 17 - Partnerships to achieve the goals. STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® ensures the consumer against harmful chemicals and dye stuffs in the finished product.

STeP by OEKO-TEX® ensures a permanent deployment of environmentally and sustainable production processes, optimize health, safety and social acceptable working conditions.

MADE IN GREEN by OKEO-TEX® is a label for the products which have STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® and is produced at an environmentally friendly STeP certified company.

BLUESIGN® is focusing on minimizing the textile industry’s impact on the environment and ensures that those resources and processes there is needed in the production is as sustainable as possible.

PROCESSING INDUSTRY

TENCEL™ is a Lyocell fiber which is registered and therefore traceable in the supply chain. Lyocell is the most sustainable fiber and made of FSC certified wood pulp derived from European beech trees and eucalyptus tress from South Africa. The wood comes from natural thinning of the forest and residues from the wood industry and is produced in a closed eco-system.

FAIRTRADE means more fair-trading terms. Fairtrade provides better working conditions and a far more appropriate income for farmers and workers in the world’s poorest countries.

AMFORI (former BSCI) ensures that we focus on our production sites and suppliers. Child labour, forced labour and any form of discrimination are completely forbidden and there are strict regulations towards working environment, working hours, salary and protection of the environment. Audits are regular carried out by a third party.

SA8000 is corresponding to Amfori. SAI works to improve working environment and human rights for employees around the world.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL SELECTION We have decided that sustainable qualities must be a natural part of the Kentaur range. It is important for us not only to talk about values, but also to put words into action. When we think of sustainability we do not only look at the product but the whole process around the product. All aspects of the value chain are important to us whether it is the cotton in the fields or the overall product economy for Textile Service. Sustainability is put on our agenda and we have defined which materials we want to work with in the future. This has become SUSTAINABLE KENTAUR. Cotton is the world’s most important natural fiber and is used in many types of clothing. • 250 mio. people have cotton as part of their livelihood. • 3 mio. people are poisoned every year by conventional cotton cultivation. • Cotton is cultivated on approx. 2.5% of the cultivated areas in the world and counts for 16% of the world use of pesticides. SERVICE & FOOD

BCI means “Better Cotton Initiative” and is a sustainable approach to growing cotton. This means improving the environment and living conditions for those who are involved in cotton production. BCI’s goal is to reach 30% of the total cotton production by 2020 ensuring the availability of sustainable products within the entire cotton production.

REPREVE® RECYCLED POLYESTER is just as good as virgin polyester. With the decision to work with Unifi, Inc. and their brand REPREVE®, Kentaur ensures transparency. We use plastic bottles like never before, virtually all beverages are sold in plastic bottles. Unfortunately, the majority of these end up in the nature, where they harm the environment due to the lack of degradability. Polyester is the most common fiber used in workwear, so the demand of this fiber is very high. By using plastic bottles and transforming them in high quality REPREVE® recycled yarns, it creates a sustainable way of diverting thousands of tons of plastic from landfills and oceans.

Our FAIRTRADE PRODUCTS are validated and comply with the standard for use of Fairtrade Certified Cotton (Audited by FLOCERT). Buying Fairtrade cotton products guarantees the cotton farmer and his family a fair and stable price.

TENCEL™ is one of the most sustainable fibers and is made of FSC-certified wood pulp. Tencel™ is produced in a closed eco-system and therefore does not affect the environment.

It is important for us that our customers have the opportunity to make conscious, sustainable decisions. Therefore, we have integrated Fairtrade Cotton, BCI Cotton, Recycled Polyester and Tencel™ as a natural part of our collections. Look for the label SUSTAINABLE KENTAUR in our catalogue.

MATERIALS

MATERIALS COTTON Cotton is a fantastic natural fiber. Cotton is soft and can tolerate washing up to 95 °C. Cotton is a good choice in mix with polyester, it draws out the good properties of the cotton such as cleaning, high abrasion and good moisture absorption. POLYESTER The most common synthetic fiber. When polyester is mixed with cotton an optimal blend in 65/35% Pes. /Cot. is achieved where you retain most of the natural fiber’s qualities and enrich it with the good properties of polyester. This includes basically no shrinkage, non-creasing, shorter drying time than cotton, which makes the mixture of polyester/cotton very suitable for workwear. T400®/ELASTHAN/EOL/EME/NATUREL STRETCH Kentaur work mainly with stretch qualities with polyester, which is stretchable or with Natural stretch. These fibers can tolerate high temperature and bleaching. When working with stretch fibers in the qualities, is it important to secure a high Recovery effect, this means that the end-user will have increased comfort and the elasticity is maintained in the garments life time. CLY/TENCEL™ Tencel™ is a sustainable fiber, which is produced in an enclosed system and is made of wood chips from already cut down trees. Tencel™ has many good properties, especially in relation to Textile Service, as it has a long lifespan and considerably shorter drying times. This means that items with Tencel™ in addition to also giving the user comfortable clothing due to the high absorption ability, also has a very high Product economy. BCI-COTTON BCI-Cotton is our choice for a sustainable alternative for conventional cotton. Cotton production is very water-consuming and there is used a lot of chemicals and pesticides in the production. When using BCI-Cotton, it is secured that the making of the cotton, is done under conditions, where both the farmer and the environment is taking into consideration. RECYCLED POLYESTER (RPET) Rpet is recycled polyester and is mainly made from used plastic bottles. Rpet and ordinary polyester is total alike both in strength and properties. Kentaur has chosen REPREVE® as the Rpet fiber in our sustainable articles which contains polyester.

SATEEN Sateen is soft and has often a shiny surface. It is a looser weaving, which also means a greater flexibility. The disadvantages of sateen, is a large surface on the individual threads and generally, sateen weaves have a higher risk of pilling. Garments in Sateen is often termed as more exclusive. Kentaur has Sateen Chef jackets. TWILL A twill-weaved fabric has the characteristic diagonal “stripes” which, in addition to structured surface, also makes the pieces of fabric more flexible. Many items in Kentaur’s catalogue are twill. Twill is very good for pants (like jeans/denim), but also tops/ jackets and aprons can benefit from the advantages of twill. PLAIN/PANAMA Plain weaves are the simplest. Plains are the same on the reverse as on the outside of the fabric. It is firm, stable which makes it a strong product. Plain weave is typically used for lighter items, such as shirts and function shirts. Panama has fewer binding points – which results in a softer and more flexible product. A typical Panama is made with thicker yarns which together with the weaving gives a lovelier structured surface. Panama is used for aprons in Kentaurs’ collection. PIQUE Pique is a knitted quality, like polo shirts. Knitted garments increase the comfort for the end-user. We are working together with some of the leaders within knitwear, to secure that the garments can be washed in accordance with ISO 15797, so they can cope with the demands within Textile Service for colour durability and stability in shrinkage. DYEING For Textile Service it is important with a high colour durability and therefore is the majority of Kentaur’s collection Vat-dyed – it means that we have used the dyestuffs with the highest possible colour fastness in order to ensure that the colours can be washed according to ISO15797 and to the hygiene standards in our markets. We ensure via Oeko-Tex® standard 100 certifications, that we comply with the guidelines in REACH in the use of dyestuff and chemicals. PRINTS We cooperate with a print manufacturer who knows about Textiles Service and the demands. Therefore, we can ensure high durability of prints also through many washes.

ISO 15797 The clothing meets the requirements for Textile Service and can therefore be washed according to ISO 15797 standard.

HACCP DIN 10524 Kentaurs HACCP collection is certified after three risk categories and fulfills the high requirements, which guarantees a very high protection

VAT DYED Products with VAT-dyeing, gives, if maintained correctly, the highest possible colour fastness for articles which contains cellulosic fibers.

BREATHE & STRETCH The product is enriched with a material that gives the product breathability and stretch ability while offering good comfort and freedom of movement.

COMFORT STRETCH Diagonal fabric direction in the back, which creates a stretch effect. It gives the user more freedom of movement.

STRETCH Stretch qualities give the user an optimal comfort. Our stretchable material, can resist high temperatures in washing and drying without affecting its extensibility and fitting.

MOBILITY SLEEVES Products with mobility sleeves have a sleeve fitting which does not lift up the whole jacket during movement.

PULL UP CUFF The product has a user-friendly pull-up cuff, which means the rubber cord in the button helps to pull up the sleeve without folding.

INCHES -OPTIMAL FIT The product is in inches, which gives a broader variety of sizes to choose from and to find a pair of trousers with a perfect fit.

INTERLINING The product contains interlining from Freudenberg, which meets the requirements from the Textile Service and complies with ISO 15797. The patented adhesive prevents detachment and air pockets for example in collars and cuffs.

Today it means more than previously for many customers to be able to have their own expression. A relative simple way to create synergy between employees and workplace is through a deliberate colour choice. For instance it could be the colour of a logo you would like to integrate or a particular atmosphere you would like to express.

If you choose one of our standard designs it will be possible to exchange the colours of different parts with other wanted colours. 5 SIMPLE WAYS SELECT COLLAR Based on our standard qualities of fabric and colors, it will be possible to decide the color of any collar throughout our range. The material must be the same as our standard model.

SELECT FLATLOCK Select the thread color for the flatlock. You can choose between one or two thread colors from our standard assortment. SELECT PIPING Select a color for the piping on the chest, side or front, for e.g. a chef jacket. Choose from our standard assortment and create your own image in relation to your logo colours etc.

CHOOSE TRIMMING Change the color of the trimming on e.g. pockets or collar regardless of which model in our assortment. However, the same number of colors as in the standard model must be selected. Contact Kentaur to learn more about your possibilities. CHOOSE THE SIDEPART On some of our models it is possible to change the color of the side part. However, the quality must be the same and the number of colors must match the standard model.

The number of colors must be equal to the standard model. If the standard model has the same color at the collar and piping, only one color can be selected.
