OKLAHOMA CITY — Elected officials, including state legislators, might soon have to pass a test indicating their basic knowledge of the office they have under a plan being pushed by one state legislator. Claremore Republican Rep. Marty Quinn hosted an interim study Thursday to discuss his idea of improving training requirements for elected county officials, including testing requirements. Quinn said many professionals in Oklahoma are required to be certified. It only makes sense that elected officials be properly trained in their area of work. — AP
