10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE AURA COLLECTION
NEW KUTXA COLLECTION BY IRATZOKI & LIZASO
The Aura collection is now iconic for Treku. Designed in 2010 by Angel Martí and Enrique Delamo, it charmed customers from across the globe right from the outset. Not only does it combine tradition and modernity in one product, it enables countless configurations from sideboards and TV stands to credenzas for offices and hotels. The selected finishes are particularly special: oak and walnut with hyper natural finishes, plus twelve colours of varnish that can be used in combination.
The chest has been around since Classical Antiquity. Known in the Basque Country as a ‘kutxa’, it was the most treasured and commonplace piece of domestic furniture, serving at once as a trunk, cupboard and table. In this study, the Iratzoki&Lizaso studio has reinterpreted these functions with a collection of unique standalone items. Each comprises a 20-mm black tubular structure showcasing wood in different finishes and leather straps.
Ya han pasado diez años desde su creación pero la colección Aura ha demostrado ser ajena a tendencias y modas pasajeras hasta convertirse en un diseño atemporal con alma de clásico. Cuando ves un mueble Aura reconoces una pieza singular. Y es que aunque funciona como un mueble modular no parece un sistema. Aura tiene la camaleónica capacidad de adaptarse a las necesidades y gustos de cada cliente cambiando de forma o función, pero siempre manteniendo una personalidad propia, reconocible e identificable.
Ya conocida en la antigüedad clásica, La kutxa, el arca, fue en el País Vasco el mueble doméstico más preciado y más usual, pues sirvió de cofre, armario y mesa. En este caso el estudio Iratzoki&Lizaso ha reinterpretado estas funciones bajo una colección de objetos singulares e independientes. Todas ellas compuestas de una estructura tubular negra de 20 mm donde la madera, los tiradores en cuero (y las encimeras en marmol para las de mesas de centro) cogen especial protagonimso.

The various spaces including the bedrooms, the living area and the dining room are fitted out with Treku products.

El resultado es un producto que armoniza madera y metal de forma orgánica y puede dar servicio a diferentes espacios, bien sea en un hogar o en un lugar de trabajo. Su polivalencia lo convierte en un producto muy funcional y estético, ya que puede utilizarse como una pieza singular para un espacio reducido o una combinación de ellas para cubrir un espacio grande y sigue siendo atractiva.
En el corazón de Gipuzkoa, en el valle de Oñati, el viajero encontrará un extraordinario entorno natural y un patrimonio artístico cultural inigualable. Se trata del Hotel Boutique Etxe Aundi. Un renovado edificio histórico del siglo XIII que destaca por su valor arquitectónico y que ofrece 21 habitaciones totalmente renovadas que aúnan diseño, comodidad y estilo para que los huéspedes disfruten de una estancia inolvidable. Un proyecto en el que los productos de Treku han equipado las diferentes estancias, desde las habitaciones hasta el salón y comedor.

It is an inspiring place for creating and reducing the gap between design and science. Its mission? To drive the digital transformation of the materials of the future through experimentation, innovation and cooperation. The Basque Bio Design Center is equipped with workshops, laboratories and prototyping technology. At Treku, we’ve had the pleasure of fitting out the entire centre, from the offices through to shared spaces. This innovative project is a leader of its kind, carving a new path towards a more sustainable and sensible future.
El Basque Bio Design Center es un centro de diseño y desarrollo para la industria de la moda, la economía circular y el biodiseño. Un lugar inspirador para crear y reducir las distancias entre el diseño y la ciencia. Su misión es impulsar la transformación digital de los materiales del futuro mediante la experimentación, la innovación y la cooperación. El Basque Bio Design Center cuenta con unas instalaciones equipado con talleres, laboratorios y la tecnología necesaria para el prototipado de colecciones. Desde Treku hemos tenido el placer de participar en la equipación del centro en su globalidad, desde la zona de oficinas hasta los espacios comunes. Un proyecto innovador y referente que pretende abrir un nuevo camino hacia un futuro más sostenible y reflexivo.
