Phytosanitary Certification Phytosanitary Certification is required for all plants shipping to AZ, CA, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT, WA, and Canada. Certification is also required for grasses and sedges shipping to CO and NM. In order to ship product to these destinations, all plant material must be inspected by the USDA and drenched before being certified for shipment. The drench fee is $1.00 per flat and guaranteed not to exceed $50 regardless of the quantity of flats ordered. All orders requiring inspection must be placed a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the ship date. Our plants are grown in a soilless media and can be shipped across state and national borders. We cannot ship grasses to UT and OR. Shipments to MT are prohibited from June to September. Shipment of Nassella is prohibited to CA, as well as Andropogon virginicus to NV.

Summer Shipments During the warm summer months, we might suggest delaying your shipment to ensure your order arrives in the best possible condition. If delaying a shipment is simply not possible, we offer and recommend expedited services to reduce the transit time of your order and reduce the risk of possible losses.

Winter Shipments Many of our plants are acclimated to unheated greenhouses during the winter months for vernalization. If you receive dormant material during this time of year, we recommend taking extra precautions to ensure viability upon transplant. When placing the plants in a warm greenhouse, it is important not to overwater the material or subject them to drastic temperature fluctuations. If you have questions or are uncertain on how to best manage dormant material, contact Customer Service.
