5.1 General

The following checklist indicates in general terms the minimum number of helicopter landing area physical characteristics which the Administration considers should be examined during initial inspection and periodic surveys carried out by the Aviation Inspection Body to confirm that there has been no alteration or deterioration in condition.

5.2 Helicopter Landing Area Dimensions:

5.3 Helicopter Landing Area Conditions:

.1 .2 .3 .4 .5 Type of surface, condition, friction, contaminant free; Fuel retention; Deck landing area net; Perimeter safety netting; Tie-down points.

5.4 Environment:

.1 .2 .3 Machinery exhausts; Hot and cold gas emissions; Presence of turbulence;

5.5 Obstacle Protected Surfaces (Minima):

.1 .2 .3 Obstacle free sector (210°); Limited obstacle sector (150°); Note if .1 above is swung from normal axis.

5.6 Visual Aids:

Shielding of working lights (helicopter landing area light pollution). Jet A-l installation; Hose; Earthing equipment;

Fuel Records. Principal agent Complementary media Rescue equipment

5.9 Crew Training Certification:

Personal protective equipment Training records
