Innovating for Global Impact
Addressing engineering challenges, such as climate change, data science, supply chains, rethinking/reshaping cities, sustainable manufacturing, re ning health and well-being, and identifying new energy resources in the coming decade is profoundly important. The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering has collaborative research areas and themes focused on global impact, as well as over 60 tenured/tenure-track faculty. More than a third of these faculty have received prestigious Young Investigator Awards, speaking to the quality of our faculty and research.
