Dear Community, On behalf of Northeastern Illinois University, I invite you to celebrate the 20th anniversary season of the Jewel Box Series along with a year of performances, film screenings, lectures and art gallery exhibits on campus. 2019-2020 includes performances by the Stage Center Theatre, Department of Music and Dance, Jewel Box Series, Ensemble Espaùol, and the Ruth Page Dance Series. The Fine Arts Center Gallery will showcase nine exhibits and our partnership with the Chicago Film Society makes rare and classic films available in their original forms of 35mm and 16mm motion picture film. Art inspires us to explore and express, to find goodness, common ground and beauty. Northeastern Illinois University is an arts hub for the community, offering varied programming to our students and neighbors. NEIU’s performance spaces and art gallery give uniquely intimate access to international and local artists and their respective works. We hope you will take part in these outstanding cultural experiences throughout the year. I look forward to seeing you on campus. Sincerely,
Gloria J. Gibson, Ph.D. President Northeastern Illinois University
