FORT ST. JOHN - There is a program new to Fort St John called, “The Christmas Pyjama Drive.” While it started in the Lower Mainland, it is slowly spreading to all parts of B.C. and Alberta and it’s making its first appearance in Fort St. John. The program collects new PJ’s for kids aged 0 to 16. The PJ’s will be distributed through local Resource Centers and charitable organizations to kids in need in time for Christmas morning. There are several local busineses in Fort St. John who have suited up to join the cause: • Smarti Pantz is a offering 25 per cent discount if you buy PJ’s at their store and donate them at their drop box. • Chelsea’s Hair Studio is offering a $5-off coupon and entry into a draw for five free kids cuts if you donate at their store. • ENTITLED (the Facebook shoppping site) is offering a 10 per cent discount if you donate PJ’s. • Diamond Cherry Beauty Bar is offering free mini Mani and entry into a draw for a $100 gift card in exchange for PJ’s. • Classrooms at Robert Ogilvie, Play Arts Preshcool, Keeginaw Preschool are also getting involved. The PJ drive goes until Dec. 8. All the above lo-

cations have drop spots to take PJ donations. There is also a drop spot at the indoor soccer pitch. Fort St. John’s community PJ Day is on Dec. 5, where there are more sponsors offering incentives for donations: • Canadian Grind will give you a free 12 oz coffee for a pair of PJ’s • Smarti Pantz will in-

crease their discount to 40 per cent off but you have to wear your PJ’s to the store when you come in • Whole Wheat and Honey is offering 10 per cent off your bill in exchange for PJ’s • Fort Bowling Lanes will give you a free game of bowling if you bring in a pair of PJ’s between 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

CHEMICAL PEELS Glycolic Peel

Glycolic acid has the smallest molecular particle size, is the most potent of AHA’s and thus penetrates more effectively and deeply than any other AHA. For this reason, the Biophora Glycolic Peel is designed to target Element Exposed / Normal Aging skin conditions for patients who desire faster results.

Lactic Peel Lactic acid is much larger in molecular size, cannot penetrate as fast or as deeply as Glycolic acid, and is considered a moisturizing agent. For these reasons, Lactic acid is best suited for people who require a less aggressive exfoliation and milder approach to skin rejuvenation.

Salicylic Peel Different from Glycolic or Lactic acids, Salicylic acid works within the deeper layers of the skin and is best suited for acneic skin. Salicyle acid is an antibacterial, oil soluble solution which is considered one of the best peels for relieving acne conditions

Here to stay in Fort St. John for many more years to come.

The Best Places to Cozy Up

With freezing temperatures and consistent snowfall, it’s clear that winter has arrived in the Peace. But the less than ideal weather hasn’t deterred residents from seeking shelter in downtown coffee shops and warmth in the variety of drinks they serve.

I’m not much of a chocolate person, but I love lattes that have flavours in them - Laurie Bergen, Hug a Mug owner

The cold weather also hasn’t slowed down customers from coming into one of Dawson Creek’s longest established coffee shops, Hug a Mug. “We have gingerbread lattés, which is kind of gingerbread for Christmas right? We have pumpkin spice lattés, we can also do pumpkin spice hot chocolates, or gingerbread hot chocolates, or peppermint mochas, peppermint hot chocolates. More or less everything can be added into the specialty drinks, depending on what people want,” said owner of nine years, Laurie Bergen.
