Chin Curtain Attached to the bottom of the helmet, the new chin curtain helps to further accentuate the Egg-shape form. The curtain simultaneously blocks air intrusion from turbulent air below and increases negative pressure to enhance the exhaust function of FFS by drawing more air from the mouth area. The improved airﬂow reduces noise even further.

Antimicrobial Liner material The fully removable interior liner system has been improved with new Anti-microbial Liner material, which helps maintain neutral acidity levels close to human skin and antibacterial consumption. With the aim of a softer, deeper and even more comfortable ﬁt we developed a new softer liner frame material. The new liner also has adjustable temple padding that allows for a customized ﬁt.

Ventilation Full ventilation is based around 11 ventilation points: 5-intake and 6-exhaust. Dual intake vents, dual brow vents and a 3-way chin vent ﬂowing cool air into the Proﬁle-V’s interior. A total of 5 holes in the shell feed hot air out – twin side exhausts create low pressure that ‘sucks’ air through; foam dams minimise noise without affecting performance. Outer shell CFL Complex Fibre Laminate (CFL) employs special fibre layers bonded by unique resins formulated by Arai, producing an extremely high fibre to low res in ratio. This carefully managed construction delivers strength, structural integrity and impact flexibility which allows the round ed outer shell to do its main job – deflect, absorb and disperse impact energy over the widest possible area.

Replaceable interior Cheek pads, ear cups or the complete interior may be easily removed. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild soap. Rinse well after cleaning and never dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Interior parts in different size thickness are available for a custom ﬁt for every rider.

The Renegade-V was designed and made for riders who insist on Arai protection while enjoying their cruiser or naked motorcycles.One of the distinctive features of the Renegade-V is the characteristic frontal view of the helmet. But the chin bar's aggressive design is not only for looks, it also increases the shell strength in this area. There are four slots to be found on the front of the helmet, and another total of four slots on the sides and back, all contributing to a highly effective ventilation and therefore great comfort. The side ducts remove hot air from the interior, through integrated air channels behind the cheek pads. For added comfort the four ventilation slots in the front may be opened and closed with a slide shutter on the inside. The surface of the EPS cheek pad material is treated with a noise reducing foam. This keeps the helmet quiet when the inside air passes through the air channels. The chin curtain reduces the amount of air entering the helmet. If a rider wants an even quieter ride, the optional replaceable chin cover can be mounted. The top ducts have been designed for an upright riding position, as is usual for cruiser and naked style bikes. A super bre belt is integrated into the shell, for increased strength in the area above the eye port. An important feature for riders who demand increased protection. PB-SNC2 Shell - Super Fibre and other special synthetic bres with superb tensile strength and exibility characteristics, developed for F-1 helmet visor panel, assembled and bonded by Arai experts, reinforcing across the forehead area (imagine the steel belts used to hold a barrel together) with a variety of carefully stacked and moulded materials. Newly developed resin creates stronger bonds between shell materials with less weight. Adaptive Casing Technology ensures varying tyre rigidity at different angles of lean. The tyre switches gradually from a ﬂexible crown for straight-line precision to increasingly rigid shoulders depending on lean angle for optimised cornering stability.

A single ply with an angle close to 90 ° is used in the carcass to reduce rigidity to the minimum in the crown zone while ensuring rigidity at lean thanks to the high reverse angles of the casing plies which overlap in the sidewalls and shoulder area. An absorbent crown gives greater stability, while rigid sidewalls and shoulder minimise movement at lean.

USING EVERGRIP TECHNOLOGY

Is there a speciﬁc tyre pressure for off-road use? No, Michelin recommends using regular tyre pressure. Furthermore, BMW doesn’t have any alternative tyre pressure recommendations for off road use on the R1200 GS models for example.
